We have a Kenmore 110 6092299 90 Series dryer. The motor still runs - but no hot air, at all. I've tried timed and heat dry. Nothing. It just tumbles and it takes 4-5 rounds to dry. At first we were told it was the dryer vent being clogged - so we cleaned it all out -took tons of lent out of the pathways. I empty lent after every load and it worked really well for about 2 months. Now it is back to not drying.

Thank you. Is this something we can replace ourselves or must I hire someone?

Sounds like the heating element or the thermo-cut off. A vent being clogged for some time, can cause too much heat to build up and make the element or cut off fail. These are the 2 most common things.

E15 error code on hoover tumble dryer

Controls
  • The control unit on the tumble dryer will vary among different makes and models. The main purpose of the controls is to allow the user to select the drying cycle. You can choose the time and temperature setting on most units, while others allow custom settings such as moisture sensors and end-of-cycle alert signals. The controls may include a dial or a touch panel and LED screen display. Some tumble dryers allow you to independently select the appropriate time for the load you are drying and separate programs for temperature.
Motor
  • The motor inside the tumble dryer spins the basket to allow the clothes to tumble while being dried. The tumbling action allows the air to pass through the clothing to dry them faster. Heating laundry that is stagnant will likely dry the clothing on the outside while leaving damp clothing inside the pile. The constant motion, along with the heat and steam created by heating the clothing, reduces wrinkles. The motor also powers the fan that delivers the heated air to the basket of laundry. The heater can be an electrical element or gas powered.

Kenmore Gas Dryer does not dry clothes.

If this is the electric version then after 15 years you probably need a new heating element, they are not difficult to install and are not terribly expensive as a DIY project.

My Kenmore series 70 dryer heats up but takes 3 times on 70 minutes to dry the clothes. After every 70 minute period when i check the clothes i open the dryer and it is like a steam room. It is getting...

Check your dryer venting for obstruction.  Take the vent hose off and run the machine,  If it works with the venting disconnected, It is between your wall and the outside of the house.  If it still has the same problem it is somewhere in the exhaust.  If the dryer can't circulate air, nothing will dry.

My dyer heats and tumbles, but doesn't dry

I'd check first for clogged vent hose or clogged lint filter or clogged vent flap on wall (outside).

If that's not a problem, it may be a faulty thermostat. Heating element is probably okay if it heats some of the time.

More info, let me know.

Kenmore Model # 417.84072300 Dryer runs all programs when selected tumbles counts down but does not have any heat.

Thermostat controls heat. There is also a motor centrifulgal switch, in the element circuit, that the motor closes to insure the motor is turning. Try another heat setting. There is more than one thermostat. You may have blown the 'thermal fuse' too, which requires replacement.

Tripped high limit. Must clean the lint filter and the exhaust vent tube and all the way in to the dryer. Hot air exit is restricted.
