Did you add the two sticks with the 512 or remove the 512 and add the two 1gb sticks? Try booting the machine with ONLY the 1gb sticks in.

Your machine supports 1gb modules but they can't be higher than 533MHz. Check that the memory you purchased was either PC3200 (400MHz) or PC4200 (533MHz) and is 1.8v. If you post the part number off of one of the modules I can look it up for you.

SOURCE: Dell 5150 Start-Up Problem.. beeps

Beeping on startup is a memory error. The blue screen you got was most likely caused by a memory error as well. First, take out then re-install your memory. If the error persists and you have more than one stick, test each one singly to find out which stick is bad.

Dell dimension 5150 wont boot past post. I've tried afew things but nothing works. can you help? thanks

If it won't go past POST then there is a hardware error. Try removing the hard drive and RAM. The mother board should complain at power on giving messages. If it does, try fitting the RAM module by module, then the hard drive.

Hi, When I try to start my Dimemsion 5150C in Windows XP computer, I received one of the following error messages "Floppy diskette seek failure Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup...

The "floppy" disk-drive (3.5-inch diskette) on your computer is broken.
Press F1 to ignore the error, and to boot from your C: drive.
Or, press F2 to enter BIOS SETUP, and then navigate through those "setup" screens to tell the computer to "disable floppy seek", or change the setting from "3.5 1.44Mb drive" to "none".
Or, take the computer to a technician, and buy a replacement disk-drive, and get it installed.

Dell Dimension 5150 Boot Problems!

You can probably try two things here.

1) Go to the BIOS and reset the defaults.
2) Clear NVRAM from your Dell computer. Here is how you do it.

Dell inspiron 5150 primary hard drive disk 0 not found

You may find that either the cable is not connected properly or is faulty, or the worse case the mother board has problems (driver, chips, breakages)
May even be a power supply problem, as the power supply has many output points and different voltages that the HDD power out may have blown. If it has then the rest of the system will appear to be ok.
So first off, check the cables connections on the motherboard, and look for any breaks in the cables, and if you have a power meter of some sort check the power connection, or plug in another power connector, the ones with the same end are generally the same power outputs. The ribbon cable for the HDD should have 2 sockets for HDDs and you must connect your HDD to the end one.

Windows will not boot up

Hello.

If you got a Windows CD try the following...

Reboot the computer and enter bios by..
When the blue DELL™ logo appears, press <F2> immediately
You might have to try this a few times since you have to be really quick,

In system setup (bios)
Set CD Drive as first device in the boot sequence. Press F10 then chose "Y" to save.

Reboot.

When asked if you want to start on CD just press any key.

The menu on your cd should have a repair option.

Hope this helps.

Dell Dimension 5150 cd-rom stopped working

Open your tower and reseat all the cables that are running to the CD ROM (generally a flat white cable). Also reseat the other end of the cable to the motherboard too.
Ensure that CD Drive is enabled in BIOS (Press F2 as the system boots up to enter into BIOS) Please get back if you need any further help.
