SOURCE: burning smell during spin cycle on frigidaire washing machine

Open lid as you would load clothes and hold the inner drum with all the holes in it. Give it a manual turn left, then right. If it spins in both ways the main bearing is gone. This is not a DIY because the new bearing has to be pressed on at a machine shop, or an appliance repair shop.

SOURCE: My Frigidaire front load washer will not dispense

Clean the dispenser drawer if water is introduced into the fabric softener cavity but does not dispense. Pull the dispenser drawer out until it stops and push down the release tab marked "PUSH" and then pull the dispenser out completely.

Lift the dispenser drawer cover and clean the tubes both in the dispenser drawer and the cover.

Turn the drawer over then release the conveyor from the tabs and lift it off. Clean the conveyor and the drawer thoroughly.

Snap the conveyor into the tabs back into position and then reinstall the dispenser cover making sure the tubes are properly seated.

Slide the dispenser drawer back into the drawer opening while pushing down the part marked "PUSH".

Let us know if the fabric softener dispenser still does not dispense while both the detergent and bleach dispensers dispense.

Dishwasher suds up and leaks during wash

Suds in a dishwasher usually come from using too much soap or the wrong kind. Soap can build up over times causing problems. First start a cycle.Do not add detergent or any dishes. When it starts washing, pour a cup of vegetable oil directly into the tub. This will cut the existing soap suds. You may need to try this a couple time before the dishwasher will drain. After all suds have been removed, load you dishwasher and start a cycle filling the detergent cup up half way. If it goes through the cycle with no problems, you should be all set. Still have the problem? A rinse aid dispenser that dispenses too much rinse aid will also cause the dishwasher to suds up. You can remove the dispenser from the door, flush it out and reinstall. Make sure you turn the circuit breaker off before taking the door apart. After rinsing it out, do not add rinse aid. Try the dishwasher and see if the problem goes away. I've seen people accidentally put liquid dish detergent in dispensers too. A dishwasher that has suds is apt to leak. Fix your suds issue and you most likely will fix you leak

Dishwasher won't access soap tray

Check if the dish rack is reversed. If it is, it'll block the dispenser from opening.
If that is not the case - you may have problems with soap dispencer solenoid or with control board. Unplug the d/w. Disassemble the door, and find the solenoid contacts on the dispenser. Check for continuity. No continuity - replace dispenser. If dispenser is ok, check wiring for continuity. Otherwise it's the board.

Leaks from soap dispenser

I don't have a front load, but it sound like a gasket has come loose. Is it for liquid dispensing? Are your clothes comming out clean? If you get inside of the washer and see where the dispenser attaches to the outside drum, my guess is it is either broken and you need to buy a new part or however it is attached has come loose. Not knowing the inside drawing of this washer, my suggestion is to find a mechanical schematic of the machine and go to the root of the problem, the dispenser itself. I am pretty sure it has just loosened up, whether it is a press fit or mechanically attached by screws to it. good luck.

Here is a response I recently gave to a person posting a similar problem. You do not state your model number, so: If you have a tub clean cycle, use that, if not, use the longest, hottest cycle with no clothes and a front load washer cleaner like Ahfresh, Washer Cleaner, SmellyWasher Cleaner, Tide front load washer cleaner, or Whilaway hot tub cleaner. Clean the tub gasket area by the door and remove the filter and clean it out also before you run the clean cycle. You may have to run the cycle with a cleaner twice to remove all the built up soap scum inside the washer. Now, after the washer is clean, USE ONLY ONE TO A MAXIMUM OF TWO TABLESPOONS OF HE LAUNDRY DETERGENT PER CYCLE !!!! (and no more than one teaspoon of fabric softener per cycle, if you use it)

You could check out http://www.smellywasher.com/ for one possiblity. The big thing is that these machines use very little water, and many of the newer soaps are 2x or 3x concentrated, so you have to use very little soap. (much much less than the soap manufacturers suggest) in order to rinse all the soap residue out of the clothes and prevent it from builing up in your washer and causing odors. (oh, by the way, that one cleaner I listed as Washer Cleaner is actually " Washer Magic ") 73b1c2a.jpg fb3071a.jpg

Frigidaire front load washer

One root cause of washer stalling in cycle (timer not advancing) on horizontal axis washers is electrical noise generated primarily by the timer contacts opening and closing which can interfere with proper operation of the speed control board. At times, depending on ambient environmental conditions, this electrical noise can cause the motor controller board to receive corrupt signals and remain on 'stand by condition' resulting in the cycle not advancing. By manually advancing the timer to the next step in the cycle or by turning the washer's power off and on, the electrical noise is discharged and the washer will perform until electrical noise may happen to interfere once again.
To resolve this issue, three jumpers have been added to the current motor controller board to reduce electrical noise levels around the microprocessor. Testing has proven this change to the board significantly reduces occurrence of control lock-up.

Frigidaire Gallery front load washer Model # GL2F1240ASO

The solution to this problem was embarassingly simple. I had the spin cycle set on "Fast" as it seemed to stabilize the washer. Just for something to try, I switched it back to "Normal" and voila - no more brown stains. Haven't got a clue why.

Dishwasher

If you are you using a liquid soap or packets that will be the main problem. If your unit fills with water circulates the water and drains the water, and also heaters are working then you probally need to change to cascade powder soap. The film on the dishes is soap. The unit has so much build up in it that when it gets to the rinse cycle it is rinsing dishes with soapy water. You need to get 2 medium bowls fill both 2/3 up with white vinager, place one in upper rack and one in lower rack and run unit on longest cycle letting the vinager splash out during wash.do this with no soap and no dishes.Having soft water will allow you to use less soap.
