You can use refilled toner cartridges or off-brand compatible toner. The plus side to this is they are far cheaper and they do work. The down side is that they may increase wear on your printer and if they are the cause of a printer malfunction your Dell warranty is not required to fix the problem. It's a calculated risk--one which I personally take (three or four replacements of toner save enough to buy a new printer).

You can get refillable toner cartridges for a cheap price, but your printer pays off the rest with abuse. I would recommend always using the proper ink cartridge, it will prolong the life of your printer.

Dell ink cartridge is missing but there is a cartridge in it

Remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and connect the Printer to be detected and installed. Check printer properties to see the ink levels.
Use head cleaning before a test is taken . It is possible that the cartridge is not contacting to the board .It can also be poor ink cartridge contacts.remove reset and repeat once again.

I CAN NOT PUT IN THE INK CARTRIGE IN MY DELL 810 PRINTER, CARRIGE IS BROKEN WHAT CAN I DO TO PLACE IT.

>> Dell All-in-One Printer 810 with 2-Year Advanced Exchange

Exercise your right to "exchange" it, if the 2 years has not yet expired.

Otherwise, it might be cheaper to buy a new printer.

Remove and replace ink cartrige

  1. Write down the printer name and brand.
  2. Remove the empty cartridge and check the writing on it. If it has any bold and big numbers on it, write these down.
  3. Go to office supply store and give the clerk your notes.
  4. Make sure you get the right one and take it home.
  5. Check to be sure your printer is on.
  6. Open your printer's lid.
  7. Take out the old cartridge and put inside a small ziploc if you want to.
  8. Dispose of the old cartridge. Or if possible, have the cartridge recycled.
  9. Unpack new cartridge and place inside the printer.
  10. Print a test page.
  11. Reconfigure printer heads for best quality.

Laser 1720 printer leaking ink on the right hand help its a dell

Look at the toner cartridge.

There is a small plastic locking collar on the end of the spindle of the rubber Developer Roller (it's this that carries the toner to the drum). I'd bet that this locking collar is loose, misplaced, or missing.

Leaking toner on the right of the printer is usually caused by this.

The other possible cause is a partially detached seal underneath the Developer Roller.

Can't change ink on dell 810. what do I do first? I don't know how to change ink in dell 810,I couldn't see how to take old one out as well and how to put new one please

Lift the priner unit lid on the printer llift he print cartridge lid,
The ink cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position unless the printer is busy.

Press down on the ink cartridge lever to raise the ink cartridge lid.
Remove the old ink cartridge.
Dispose of the old cartridge properly.

If you are installing a new ink cartridge, remove the sticker and transparent tape from the back and bottom of the ink cartridge.

Insert the new ink cartridge.

Snap the lid closed.
Lift the printer unit, and hold the scanner support up while lowering the printer unit until it is completely closed. Let me know if you have any questions.

Dell 810 All-In-One InkJet Incompatible Ink Cartridge error message

Well, first off ,it's dell's fault, not yours. Even Official Dell cartridges are temperamental at best. The cartridge error you are explaining is common with Dells. They even have what's called a marriage issue, meaning the cartridge will work in only one single printer. However, I'm not sure how to fix it. Sometimes, you can install a new one and the other cartridge you never touched gives you fits, and goofs up. I'd say get a new printer. Dell is increasingly getting more stingy with their ink, and truth be told, I don't think their quality (*lexmark makes dell, so stay away from them too) matches HP or canon. If you want the best cost per page, get a canon that has individual ink cartridges. They are easy to refill, and print a great picture. You pay more $$ up front, but you'll save a ton in the long run
