My friend has the original remote to above TV. It does not configure to local Cable TV company changes. Is it outdated. If anything how can I help him?

Hello.
In many cases by connecting the DVD via a scart cable (depending in what country you live in if your system supports it)
the dvd will send a signal to the TV to switch over to RGB mode when you start playing the dvd. Rember to make sure the scart connectors are firmly pressed into their sockets on both tv and dvd.
Also if you found out how to switch channels directly on the TV try to go through them ...you might find the AV channel that will show the picture from your dvd.

There is one way to try. I would have your playstation connected to the A/V of your TV. Power up your game. Now try tuning your TV to channel 3 of course. Now, press channel down on TV a few times...You may get an input. I'm not sure if this will help, but try anyway. If this fails, you need to purchase a universal remote with an input selection. I recommend a Philips remote. TV remote model # SRP 1003/27. This number is located just left of the universal price code. I found this remote as one of the best.
