Question about Dacor Epicure ERD36 Dual Fuel (Electric and Gas) Kitchen Range

1 Answer

Dacor oven door does not close completely

This Dacor range works well. It is gas cooktop and electric convection oven. The issue here is that the oven door will not close completely. I can push it shut with little effort, but it does not stay shut. It is open, maybe, a half inch at the top. Food cooks fine in it. Seems like the springs are weak????
Anyone run into this problem before? What are the fixes?  Dacor oven door does not close completely. It is easy to push closed but comes back about 1". Seems to cook alright but is not right.

Place a hammer handle between the hinge and the door frame. Exert moderate pressure to close the door. It should spring back to normal position. Do both sides.

The oven shut off half way through baking on convection, the fan still works, the clock still on, other functions seem to work but now the oven will not come up to temperature what can cause this?

The door closure latch can cause such an issue, if is isn't engaging correctly. Otherwise your RSD30 may need to be reset. Follow the instructions in the owners manual to reset. If you don't have a copy, the link attached below is free to use. Dacor rsd30 User Manual

Oven door won't open

Hi... Having problems with my Dacor ERD36 as well, I came across this posting that might help with your particular situation of not being able to open the oven door.

Here is the link to the forum:
http://www.applianceguru.com/forum1/2189.html

In case you can't get to the forum link, here is the response:

Have a 2nd person at the circuit breaker turn off power. You press and hold the cooktime keypad. The other person turns the breaker back on. The display will show the 4-character ID code of the ERC (e.g., 1180). You have 30 seconds between each test.

Press and hold these keys on sequence:

convection bake
standard bake
pure convection
broil
timer 2 (momentary push only)
stop time
clock

Finally, we arrive at the test we want:
Open the door, push and hold cook time for 10 seconds. Self clean latch motor will activate. Door latch will complete a cycle. The test will end the ERC will display the time of day.

Complete this test within 30 seconds or you'll get an F0 code (stuck keypad).

I hope this helps.
