Problem with Sanyo ST-21KX2 it shuts off automatically

Hi, I have a problem with my Sanyo TV. What happens is that it automatically shuts off after around an hour or more of use. I believe that if it is already hot it will automatically turn off on its on and when you turn it back on after 5 minutes or so it will turn off again. I tried to open the back cover of the TV, then tried to focus an electric fan at the circuit. It doesn't turn off. I tried to bring it to a repair center and they told me that the problem is the power supply but they are charging me a lot to fix this. Is there a way that I can fix it on my own?

Dear cool_freeze the problem of your Tv is just like mine,open the cover of your Tv,look at the power supply if you see the small Zener diode ,pls tester it at X1 at resistance,if it reads back to back then it is defect,get it and replace it according to its voltage!!!

Yes it could be the large ac caps in the powersupply. Or it could be a resistor. You would have to do a few checks, if you know how. there are a few large caps with a high voltage that maybe leaky.

My 46" sanyo lcd tv screen was all black on the right side and got to where it shut off now it wont even come on

Specifying the model - and in case of Sanyo TVs the chasis - is critical for faster and proper diagnostics of such problems.

Sanyo dp46819 after 5 minutes tv starts changing channels by itself and volume shoots up ,will not shut off ,have to unplug to shut off,,what is problem?

That problem is usually happens when the button is defective..

The push button is not get back to the original position it remains on contact so the channel is automatic tuning

Please replaced the button of channel to fix that problem.

I have a Sanyo CE32WP5B television and nothing happens when I switch on the set, would this just mean the fuse near the on/off switch has blown?

That sounds like you have a power supply fault.
If the mains fuse has blown on the chassis, check the Switch Mode Chopper Transistor and dry joints around the transformers.
Be careful replacing the chassis in the case as the join gives problems!

Turn the device on that you want to program. Press and hold Set for 2 seconds. When the light is on, press the device button you want to set. Then press the Channel + or - and press power after. When the device turns off, press enter and your code is saved. If all functions do not work after this, repeat the process until you get the right one.
