What's the make & model of the radio?
Most DAB/FM radios work from the same antenna, so if you receive FM stations, you should receive DAB stations in your area.
It should be noted that DAB transmitters work on lower power than conventional FM transmitters, and so you may be in a weak reception area (for DAB). It should also be noted that DAB uses different frequencies than regular FM stations and household appliances such as laptops,WiFi, microwave ovens, etc can affect DAb reception.

Hi Paul, the make of the tuner is a Teac T-H300 dab mk2
It has a separate aerial socket for the dab radio.

SOURCE: DAB radio model Sharp FV-DB1E

This is SwannerX and I have solved the problem by locating the DAB radio receiver to a higher position ( some 6ins. higher only ) and orienteering the aerial in an opposite direction.
All 25 stations now tune O.K. and signal quality still reads in the high 90's and signal strength shows 9-10 bars. This is not substantially any more , but it has done the trick!!!
I am still very puzzled why it would not work again in the original position where it has worked well for many years.
Obviously DAB requires a good strong signal as I am living very close to the transmitter at Mounteagle in the Black Isle and the set is upstairs in the house to achieve the highest signal into the set's whip aerial.
Another annoying query I can give you is this :- Every time I do a full AutoTune operation on the DAB receiver , it ALWAYS comes ON tuning BBC Asian 1st. so that station comes up as a 'Favorite' on the Radio's screen. No matter how many other stations I select and listen to for at least 20secs. say, the BBC Asian one STILL is listed as a FAV.
Is this a peculiarity of the Sharp design or a function of the transmission system?
Maybe this BBC Asian is on the first freq. the DAB Radio scans, but I would have thought it would come ON every time with the last station which was selected before it was switched OFF.
What do you think ???

SOURCE: how to reboot hitachi dab radio

Sounds like what happened to my Sharp DAB receiver recently . - Swtch OFF completely from all power sources and proceed with the recommended RESET function.
Move set and/or aerial to be sure of a good strong signal before attempting a complete re-start and full AutoTune as per the instruction manual.
This operation certainly cured my problem although I never have found out what caused the failure in the first place!!!

Hi, I have prob with new DAB P7. He do not count dab stations after press S, just blink SD connect??

It sounds like there may be an issue with the DAB radio's reception or configuration. Here are a few things you can try:
  1. Make sure the DAB antenna is properly connected and positioned for optimal reception. If the antenna is not properly connected, the radio may not be able to receive any stations.
  2. Try resetting the DAB radio to its factory settings. This may help to clear any configuration issues that are preventing the radio from properly counting stations. Check the user manual for instructions on how to reset the device.
  3. If the above steps do not work, try moving the DAB radio to a different location in your home. Sometimes, radio reception can be affected by nearby obstacles such as walls or large metal objects.
If none of these steps work, you may want to contact the manufacturer's customer support for further assistance.

Lost am radio but still have fm

AM and FM radio use different aerials. You need to check the AM aerial is still connected. Some radios mute the background noise of no tuned stations, but if the aerial is good it could be a fault on the radio.

Suddenly get the message No stations available on DAB!

Check the aerial connection. You need a good signal to pick up DAB radio, more so than FM.

Why will my radio new 3120 not pick up dab stations at all really tune and all I get is radio 2 have tried for a week to get magic fm thank you

If you have replaced a normal car radio with a DAB then your existing aerial is not suitable due to the required frequency range. You need a DAB aerial for cars. There are many types available, internal or external. Don't bother with converters as this will only give a marginal boost to the fm aerial.

Can not get DAB radio too work on my Vita audio but FM radio works fine

This may be because you live in an area where DAB reception is currently poor, but to check this, please use our postcode checker (see 'check your DAB coverage' panel on the right) to see which DAB stations you should be able to receive. If reception for your area appears to be good, then it may be down to local conditions or building materials. Buildings constructed from steel and reflective glass are not good for radios with internal aerials as they reflect and greatly reduce the strength of signal. In such a case an external aerial will greatly improve reception, but most importantly, if you are using the supplied telescopic aerial, you should ensure that it is properly fitted and fully extended upright.
Secondly, when our products are first powered up from new, they automatically scan the DAB network to see which services are available. During this process it is important that the radio is not touched and that the aerial has been correctly fitted and extended as instructed. If this has not been done then it is likely that not all stations will be detected and only the strong ones displayed. To correct this a new AutoScan/AutoTune or System Reset should be performed as instructed elsewhere in our Q&A's.

Dab signal

I suggest you scout around the neighbours for a DAB you can borrow to test the signal in your usual place. Your own radio could be faulty.
One of my DAB radios worked fine on FM even though one day it just stopped working on DAB for no apparent reason. The board to repair it is priced not to sell...
