How suddenly? like everything was fine then wont go on now? or things were acting strange then - dead? their can be two to three things that have happened, dead battery (flat or split!) blown fuse in the AC TO DC stepdown on the mains power cable. (the box with the little light on the power cable.) or component falure. this will only likley happen if you drop it while its on or similar tho. unless its new? my first idea would be to see if its stil under warrentee then look at a repair quote i would do a job like this for $270 if its a component fail or $150 if its a power systems fail! so dont get ripped of :) ask which one first. good luck!

My MP3 it is a SONY NWZ-E-436F, and my loptap won't recongnize.

Your laptop has to have a USB 2.0 port. Even if it does, many laptops do not have enough power to do what they need to do AND run an mp3 player. Also, make sure your OS on your laptop is compatible with the player - many mp3 players are not compatible with Vista. In some case, you actually need to plug the mp3 player into a power source AND plug the usb cable into the laptop for it to run properly - this requires a specialized cable.

Sony is a wealth of information - the help page for your model is:

POWER DEAD using different adapter(universal) after 2 days.

Sounds like you killed the motherboard. Find a local repair shop or someone on craigslist who will diagnose it for free. Wait while they do it, should only take 5-10 minutes to confirm your worst fears.
