In the distributor is a cam sensor, the dist must come out and apart to fix it. When you replaced the injector assembly did you replace the fuel press regulator also? If not I would do that first.
Your blazer has central fuel injection (CFI). You said you changed injectors, but your injector in inside the intake manifold, and only has one injector and a "spider" of nylon tubes from the central injector to each intake port. It is common for these spiders to break, causing fuel to leak into the inside of the manifold, and cause problems like you described. The spiders are available as reconditioned and are quite expensive,
YOU HAVE CPI ( CENTRIAL PORT INJECTION ) TO CHANGE YOU NEED TO REMOVE UPPER INTAKE AND A LOT OF PARTS TO GET AT INJECTOR, NOT AN EASY REPAIR. INJECTOR SPINS IN HOUSING TO FEED ALL POPET VALVES (SPIDER LEGS) TO BRING FUEL TO CYLINDERS. USE LUCAS FUEL TREATMENT TO CLEAN AND LUB SYSTEM INCLUDING FUEL PUMP TO INCREASE LIFE OF SYSTEM.
There is a check valve in the fuel pump that sounds like it may have gone bad. Check the fuel pressure at the shredder valve, there should be 60 to 65psi during the prime and will drop 5 psi when the engine is running. Once the fuel line is primed, check to see how fast you lose your prime. Since you replaced your injection system, we can eliminate the fuel pressure regulator leaking which was common on the injection system your truck run's on. If the fuel pressure drops fast then it's going to be a bad check valve at the fuel pump and it may be time to replace the fuel pump it self. Good luck and hope this helps. Note: do not try to start the engine with putting gas through the throttle body, it's been know for small fires to start and burn the spider injectors.
Check the fuel pressure at the Shredder Valve, You should have 60PSI to 65PSI upon start and should drop about 5PSI when running. If your fuel pressure is good then it may be a bad injector system. The fuel injector spider system that the vortec has are know to go bad, from the fuel pressure regulator to the puppet fuel valves.
Change the fuel filter first if it has not been changed yet and have the fuel pressure check. Good luck and keep me posed. Note: it's been know that spraying ether to start the vortec with the spider injector system has got the puppet valves to catch fire and melt the ends of the puppet valve leading to the replacement to the whole system.
