Tape stuck Hi there, I have a Philips TV/VCR combi which was fine but then one of my cherubs tried to insert a videotape as I powered the tv, resulting in said tape lodging in the slot. it tries to eject it but then goes back in.Gave up on it and bought an Aiwa....see other post under Stellabelch.

Found on a post from a different site. Seems to be the fix for the tapes getting stuck in the TV VCR Combos.

I just had a tape stuck in a VCR/TV combo so went on the Internet for help and

all other answers were to take the top off the VCR which of course is not

    possible with a tv combo.

While stuck the the power would turn on it would just emit a low moan-whining

noise for a few seconds starting strong then running down and then power off.

Couldn't watch TV in that state, it would automatically power off.

So I got down comfortable on the floor eye level with the input slot with the

flapping door cover and pressed the power button then quickly with my fingers

of one hand inserted them in the tape load slot and using my middle fingers

continously began pushing up on the top edge of the cassette in a stiff but

quick flicking motion over and over again (like trying to physically force the

tape up with intermittent prodding short and quick strokes so it could clear

the lip if the eject mechanism kicked in) while simultaneously pressing and

holding the eject button with my other hand and after a few tries and 5 or six

upward prods on the front top edge of the cassette the eject mechanism

activated and spit out the tape. -Sharon

I have a tv/vcr combo, TI 15X5, with panel lock on. I have managed to get partial control with a One for All remote, but a cassette is stuck in and I cannot get any button to release it. Does anyone know the correct code I should be using , or is there a manual solution.

To unlock the front panel of samsung TI-15x5 get a universal remote control which should have TV code=702. Set TV1=702 and you will be able to gain some control of the TV+VCR. To gain control of the setup menu you use VCR code=289 and you will find menu in one of the bottons.

Videotape dubbing deck dead

Hi,

1. Check to see if a tape is jammed inside (see 284 Extract a Jammed Videotape).
2. Try changing the video input and/or output source. Many VCRs have two ways to receive and send a video signal (coaxial and video direct). If that works, try changing the cable for the other method to see whether you need a new cable.
3. Clean tape heads (see How to Clean VCR Heads).
4. Open VCR and inspect any belts that are accessible (see 284 Extract a Jammed Videotape). A drive belt may be broken or loose.

If tapes are getting stuck / enmeshed inside the machine, itis 90% probability) a mechanical problem. Change the Belts, clean all rollers, idlers, and braking pads.
I would suggest that you also replace the Capstan Pinch Roller.

Goodluck..

Philips combi

Hi,

How old is the TV? Are the discs you are trying original store bought ones or burnt ones?

Combi TV/VCR When video tape is inserted TV immediately goes onto "emergency mode" and won't play the tape. Sometimes ejects it str away. TV was 2nd hand so I don't have a manual for it.

The Video portion of the set requires a belt and possibly a drive pulley.
When the tape is inserted, the deck moves it forward then back and if it can't because it has lost its drive due to a belt broken stops dead. Hence "Emmegency mode".

VCR tape playback not good

Check your "tracking" If the tape played fine in the old machine, then tracking is the answer, provided that the new machine records good.

Magnavox combo vcr dvd

What you're describing is common when the center LED has failed / gone out. If you're really good at taking a unit like this apart and putting it back together - and not too bad with a solder stick you could attempt this one yourself... It is a pretty intensive repair but not difficult for a good shop just time consuming. The part isn't too expensive either, just an infared LED... In fact, we've run a bit short on stock once in awhile and bought one of the off the shelf versions from Radio Shack which worked just fine. Good Luck Bill

VCR eats the tape

you have a bad take-up reel clutch or a belt on the bottom of the player mechanism that is causing this trouble.
