MY Sharp XR-10X Multimedia Projector was working fine. Now, it does not start up. The fan is not heard either. It has an indicator lit that always turned on when I turned on the device. Now, nothing appears. Dead. No sounds, no lights, nothing.
Should I replace the lamp? I took it out and inspected it, shows no burnout signs.
Thanks,

same issue...I wonder if this is like a pc power supply issue? Can the internal power supply be bad? I have replaced many of those...is there a trick to this fix?same issue...I wonder if this is like a pc power supply issue? Can the internal power supply be bad? The unit has an internal timer , this has happened to me several times , i changed bulbs thinking that was the problem , when the bulb timer reaches 2000 hrs or the if you change bulbs and dont reset
it the machine will not respond , check your manual and reset the timer

According to the manual, a red blinking light indicates that the lamp cover is open. Try reseating the lamp and making sure everything closes up right. If the light is still blinking, it is most likely a problem with the projector itself and you may need to find out about getting it serviced.
1. Plug the power cord into the AC socket of the projector. 2. While simultaneously holding down MENU/HELP, ENTER and DOWN ARROW button on the projector, press STANDBY/ON on the projector. 3. "LAMP 0000H" is displayed, indicating that the lamp timer is reset.
the colorwheel motor bearings are starting to go. you'll need to replace the colorwheel. you can get the part from a sharp service center and do it yourself or send it to one for repair. either way, try av solutions in ny. they're really good. www.avsolutionsny.com
first, make sure you have the correct lamp. the lamp for the xr-10x-l looks like the xr-10x, but the plugs are different (common mistake). make sure you have the AN-XR10L2/1, not the AN-XR10LP/1. to reset the lamp timer (with the projector plugged in but off), hold down the enter, down arrow, and menu buttons and press the power.
this is something which sharp didnt foresee!!!!!!!!!! sharp has two identical models sharp xr10x & the newer model xr10xl.both the lamps look alike , however both have a different rating & reverse connector!! i.e both cannot be interchanged!however if u have the old xr10x & if u try to fit the new bulb which is lower in wattage, it will explode in 20 mins if you have bought a used projector , then u wont know if someone has interchanged the ballast!! as this model was discontinued 2 years back!!!! so confirm the model , it is mentioned under sharp name or at the bottom good luck
