Trying to find out what charger for my shift3 black series 20 LED lantern. Does it use batteries also? Got the unit from a friend and know nothing about it other than it is cheap and prob a throw away made...

4 D batteries or 6v ac adapter. The base unscrews to get to the battery compartment. If you use Ni-cad batteries then take out of lantern to charge. Take batteries out if you use ac adapter. The ac adapter plugs into the back. These are cheap made in china lanterns and the batteries cost more than the lantern.

How do I re-charge by Black & Decker 12v cordless drill?

If it is a Ni-CD / NI-Mh battery, please fully discharged and fully charged it to prevent "Memory effect".

If it is a Li-ion battery, please charge it before you use it.

Please keep in mind that, please fully charge a battery when you store it. And, charge it again every two months.

Low battery on a tk3202 two way radio

Hi Patrick,

Are you using rechargeable Ni-Cad batteries?

If so, buy Li-ion Batteries, Ni-cads have a memory and will recharge from last charge only, rather than fully charge.

Lithium Ion Li-ion batteries don't have memory issues, and therefore will recharge fully.

These are available as rechargeable types so, look for the rechargeable types.

I hope this has been helpful.

Best regards,
Peter

Can you use 18v lithium battery in old 18v drill

Yes you can. On tools, 18 volts is 18 volts. Tools don't 'know' how the power is being created, either by Ni-Cad or Li-Ion means. Chargers are totally different. Most Li-Ion chargers can charge older Ni-Cad and some Ni-MH batteries but older Ni-Cad chargers will charge Li-Ion battery untill they overheat and sometimes start on fire because older chargers can't detect when the Li-Ion batteries are full.

Charging mp3 player

If your MP3 has an inbuilt Li-Ion battery (e.g. no compartment for a standard/Ni-MH AAA battery), then connecting the player to your computer will normally charge it - this is the case for the PD-6070 'stick' player. Your player will also indicate that it is being charged (or not charged!) via the battery level/power indicator which is located on the top RHS.
Hope it helps!

I can't locate the 12 volt converter in my camper

They hide them under seats, in closets, in side storage compartments.

The unit is often a shoebox sized box with a power cable in and cables to the battery out. OFTEN the fuses are located centurally for the whole trailer.

While properly charging, you should see about 13.5 to 14 volts across the battery.

Kodak camera turns off everytime i zooom

This problem is normally due to either weak batteries or corroded battery contacts. First, make sure that you have the correct batteries in the camera (e.g. Ni CD batteries will not function properly if the camera calls for Ni-MH batteries), and that they are fresh/fully charged. If changing/charging the batteries doesn't solve the problem, remove the batteries and wipe the contacts inside the camera with a clean soft cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a fine wire brush, steel wool, or fine sandpaper). Once the contacts are clean, remove any specks that may have fallen into the battery compartment during the cleaning, clean the batteries, and reinstall them in the camera.

This cures the problem about 90% of the time.

My AEG BL9618 battery charger has started to chirp(beep) is this a fault signal as the user manual is pretty thin on troubleshooting

Does the battery still charge?? The reason I ask is that some tool mfr's are starting to play with the chargers. Insert the battery and remove within 5 seconds and reinsert and then does the noise go aaway or change? Makita has started doing this and also some others. If the battery charges I wouldn't worry too much but try the above method and see.
