With your card in your unit follow these steps it should accomplish letting you view your map data.
push MENU twice
Highlight CHART push ENTER
Highlight CHART DATA push ENTER
Highlight LOWRANCE push ENTER.
You will note there is an option for Lowrance and Navionics, if you select Navionics you will see a distinct difference in the way the base map displays on your unit.
Hope this helps.
Hi, a waypoint is used to mark a point of interest for location purposes only whether it be for fish, hazards or a boat ramp etc. it is not intended to replace common sense. Your navionics card if purchased will show land masses, shallow waters, channel markers and known hazards. Regards Phil.
It might be possible that you WILL NOT BE ABLE TO OPERATE such maps on your device. A list of compatible plotters can be found here [in PDF format]: http://www.fugawi.com/web/products/plotterfacts.pdf
I had the same problem with my handheld Lowrance Hunt C. After
installing the card and locking it in place, I had to slide the card
"out" toward the locking mechanism. It barely moves, but worked after
that. Whenever I load the card, I now slide it out or wiggle it and it works every
time.
I've had several similar units, and used them with Navionics HotMaps Premium series chips. You must select Menu. The "Browse files" to access the MMC card option. Once the selection screen opens, choose which card or file you want.
FYI...All of Lowrances HD models come preloaded with pretty much every major lake and river in the US.
CHIP WOULD COME ON THE GO WHITE IN 10 SECS ON LOWRANCE HDS 5
