Error message: Macromedia Projector has encounterd a problem

I have an HP scanner that needs to have the software re-installed. I have the latest updates from Adobe (Macromedia Flash) and v.7.2 of Quicktime. I don't even want to think what might happen if I had to reload my HP printer software. Since those updates were loaded, I can't install/re-install any of my applications that relay on Macromedia Projector for the installation interface. It asks me to close and report the problem to Microsoft. How am I going to repair or re-load any application that rely on Macromedia Projector

Macromedia projector error

I had the "macromedia projector" error with the CSI game. This worked for me:

1). Open “QuickTime Preferences” (right-click the “QuickTime” Q icon in lower right corner of Windows taskbar).

2). From “Browser Plug-in” tab, click the button labelled “MIME Settings…” then click “Use Defaults” and hit “Ok”.

3). Now go to “Video Settings” tab and choose “Safe Mode (GDI only)”. (Note: QuickTime versions 7 and above, make sure “Enable Playback of Adobe Flash tracks” is also checked).

You should now be able to run the game without errors, good luck.

Macromedia projector has stopped

You might try reinstalling Macromedia Projector (now Adobe Flash).

Sometimes if you use compatibility mode to run the game:
  • Click - Start, Programs, Accessories, Program Compatibility Wizard.
  • Follow the prompts to set up the compatibility mode.
  • Use Windows 98 compatibility, and disable visual themes.
Also you could change Apple Quicktime to run video in Safemode:
Quicktime Player > Edit > Quicktime Preferences > Advanced > and under Video Change from DirectX to Safe Mode (GDI)

You may need to reinstall Quicktime, but uninstall the old version first.
