Help with a convergence problem

I have a wt-46805 mitsubishi it was given to me by a friend it just had a red problem the gun would flash and the convergence would travel i read several DIY fourms that said the IC's or the solder joints on the IC's were bad so i checked and the 1st pin on the first IC was bad i tried to resolder it but the tracer was gone i was told by a tv shop to use a jumper and they told me where to jump it to well aperently that was wrong it burnt 2 resisters i replaced the resisters and the 2 IC's and then found out that the #1 pin didnt connect to anything my original problem was just a bad resister that i didnt find originaly now i have a real problem all of the convergence is bad and it cant be adjusted in the advanced menue or the service menue in the service menue you can change the values but nouthing changes i have searched all over for a free service manual but been unsuccessful i know that there are a few diffrent tv's with the same boards if im not mistaken it is a chassis v16w i was realy in search of a new or used board for a reasonable price the part # to the board itself is 930b862 and it is the second board and i am having anouther problem i was working on the tv last night and there was only 3 vertical lines in the center of the screen i looked inside and found a plug that wasnt connected all the way it was a big plug with only 2 wires a big red and a big blue not thinking about it i just reached in and pushed it down and there it went now none of the guns will lite up i have heard that there is a reset but not sure what it is any help you can give me would be very much apreciated thanks again in advance

Convergence on mitsubishi WT-46805

Mitsubishi is famous for this. You are going to have to resolder the convergence ICs. Very simple repair if you are just a little tech savy. Do you know how to solder? This is a 99% fix. Take the back cover off (unplug first). You will see a big heatsink on the board (6-8 inchs long) attached to this are 2 convergence ICs. Unscrew the board, flip it over and resolder all the pins to those 2 chips. Done

Convergence issues

Is the symptom the same on ac format? If so you may have to do an alignment. Also when the convergnce seems off if you go back to the convergence adjustmen is it off there aswell? If so you may just need to reflow thesolder on the convergence Ics.

Mitsubishi WT 46805 ~ Picture gone..... :0(

Good Day, Corri;

It sounds like the TV has a Circuit problem in the convergence circuit. If it comes and goes then the concern can be corrected by re-soldering the 'conv' output IC"s. A semi-minor repair and cost.

Good Luck, big IRISH.
