Error message "PND needs to be updated" means the software version of your GPS is lower than 4.93. To update the maps of your GPS, please update the software first by visiting the link below:

magellan does offer updates but be careful as I have seen it mess up a few units where it was tried--what is the issue?

I have a tom tom and recently I noticed that the direction of travel was wrong. The unit has a 2d or 3d view, that was the problem with mine. It also has a setting for displaying N. Check for these settings on your unit, Hope it helps........

I have tried all that was posted on here with the Magellan Roadmate 3120 and none of it worked... I just simply returned it back to the store... Problem solved...

Download and install Magellan's content manager software. Your GPS unit should be recognized after installation.
