The CD Changer will not come out so that i can put a cd inside.
It just makes a funny sound as if it is trying to open but not doing it.
Thanks,
SOURCE: CD Changer MEC ERROR
you need to make sure that your cd mech is aligned correctly. if it is not alligned correctly, it will power up from standby, try to load the cd trays and you will get mech error message on the display. good luck with allignment.
SOURCE: I have a Sony MHC-GX470 stereo...it will not play
the mechanism is bad or in human terms the motor that excepts and moves the disc has gone out i reccomend taking it to a repair shop to get a estimate because it may jus be cheaper to replace it.

I had a similar problem with my sony cd changer. Took it apart it turned out to be the drive belt a 3 pound part. Got a new slightly smaller one and works well. Very easy to replace.
