Re: presario will not start
Hi, remove the left side of your case, turn on power and see if you can see a red or green led light on the board, if its not showing then your power supply is faulty.
If the light is on then with the power off check the RAM chips are tight. if that does'nt work Then trace the cables from the front of the case, locate which is the pwr switch and unplug that, turn the poweron and then use a small screw driver and bridge the pins of the pwr switch. If this does not work you have either a dead CPU or a dead motherboard.

Try re inserting the cables connected to your CPU, if it doesn't work, you need to open the CPU case and re-insert the IO cards inside, it might also needs cleaning inside but a technician might be needed to do the cleaning correctly, due to sensitive parts inside.
Try to watch videos on how to insert IO cards on other sites, for your guide. Good day and good luck.
I am in no way an expert on computers but after hours of research, of course starting at fixya.com, and trying everything short of buying power supply and motherboard, i found a post that suggested to use a blow dryer and blow hot air over the area with the blinking light for about a minute. I was really reluctant to try this but am glad i did. In less than a minute i could hear the comp powering up and the light went and stayed solid, so far that is. I always use fixya.com for everything and wanted to put what helped me on here in case it can help someone else or save them hours of research. I hope this help some. Good luck.
