Camera won't take pictures despite new batteries and SD card. When its turned on, it displays the date, time, and temp, but the right side displays "LOC". What does this mean? How do I get it to function?
The SD card has a little switch on the left side (Lock/Unlock) that provides write protection for the card. The switch is in the Locked position and the camera can't write to the card. Remove the card and move the switch to the unlocked position (towards the contacts on the end you insert into the camera). Then replace the card carefully so that you do not change the position of that switch.

I have a Stealth Cam Skout 7. The screen displays Loc or Lock. To fix this.. On the side of your SD card there should be a little rectangle that will slide back and forth. Slide it the opposite way to unlock it.
First of all, it is never advisable to copy a picture from the computer to a memory card or camera. Most of the time, it will corrupt the card and sometimes the camera.
Second, the procedure for connection to a tv needs to follow a detailed procedure. This is different for each tv and camera. For example, on my tv, my camera and tv need to be off, I make the connection, turn on the tv, set the tv menu to "photos", turn on the camera, and then follow the on-screen prompts from there. If I change that order, I have problems.
I just bought, last August, a Tasco Digital Trail Camera - 119223C . Took pictures until Jaunary 2011, my camera display shows Loc and the SD Card flashes. The instruction manual does not reference this setup code. Does anyone know what 'Loc' means? I tried to reformat card, I also so not get a Y/N option for formatting. I bought a new card and changed batteries. no change!
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

My mother has this model camera. I believe there is a setting in the main menu that will allow an energy saving mode that sets the display time or no display. If not it's under warranty and your retailer should replace it if it is within 30 days of purcase date.
