Replacing timing belt. If the feed dogs still move up and down and back and forth then you just need a timing adjustment . If the feed dogs do not move at all then you need a new timing belt Hope.

How do you fix the drive for the feed dog on a BabyLock Model #BL4-428D

To fix the drive for the feed dog on a BabyLock Model BL4-428D sewing machine, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Unplug the machine: Make sure the machine is unplugged from the electrical outlet.
  2. Remove the needle plate: Carefully remove the needle plate by releasing the thumbscrew that holds it in place.
  3. Locate the feed dog drive: The feed dog drive is located under the needle plate, and it is connected to the feed dog by a small gear.
  4. Check for wear and tear: Inspect the feed dog drive and gear for signs of wear and tear, such as stripped gears or a loose drive belt.
  5. Replace the drive belt: If the drive belt is loose or damaged, replace it with a new one. Make sure it is correctly installed and tight.
  6. Replace the gear: If the gear is stripped or damaged, replace it with a new one. Make sure it is correctly installed and tight.
  7. Reassemble the machine: Carefully reassemble the needle plate and thumbscrew.
  8. Test the machine: Plug the machine back in and test it to make sure that the feed dog is moving properly.

Cannot get the bobbin thread to loop with the top thread on singer 338

correct timing is when the needle is fully down and is just starting to go back up
at that point the hook should be just about at the eye of the needle
past or before indicates that the timing is out
way out can be the belt that drives the bottom section and just a bit can be the adjustment for the needle crank on the sliding shaft at the front of the machine

How to replace belt for a pfaff 7570

I suggest taking machine to your local dealer. This machine, to my knowledge, does not have a belt as it is programmable. Jimmy

Raising bobbin thread

These machines are timed by belt and go out of time a lot. Check and see that when the needle passes through the plate and travels upward 1/8" at this point the rotating hook should be right behind and above the eye in the needle,my guess is that it is out probably 1 tooth on the timing belt and can usually be corrected by removing the bobbin case and holding the rotating hookk with on ehand and forcing the handwheel with the other hand which will cause the belt to jump a cog and should put your machine back in time I hope this helps

Need to find a compatable replacement belt for a discontinued sewing machine.

Sheila,
I called the company which sells Necchi Machines and parts(Allyn)
in the States about the belts.Their Number is 800-525-9987. The parts department says Necchi used several different motors with differing motor mounts which means there is no standard motor belt for this model machine. The only way to get the right belt is to either take in the machine or the old belt to your repairman. More than likely he will have a Generic belt which will work.

Replace a motor belt for sewing machine

The top tension is dependent not just on the tension dial, but also on the little disks that you go through to thread the machine. If it is not threaded correctly, you will get bunching underneath. Sometimes I just have to rethread the machine-- when you get to the disks- hold the thread taut and push it through the disks before going up to the arm part. Here is a threading picture I found- but it doesn't point out the disks too much. Once the machine is stitching nicely, then the tension dial can be used to flatten out the stitches.
