Re: MAH8700 Water and Clothes stuck in washer.. HELP!!
Well its tough to tell exactly what is goin on.... when you are in service mode and press chime it displays how many cycles its done not a command to unlock the door (thats what you were attempting.right?)...559 cycles in a little over a year?? Thats a lot! you do like one a day every day??? Anyway aside from that it sounds like the pump is clogged with foreign objects. Its not easy to service the pump/sump on this new chassis neptune made by samsung. But after 559 cycles theres bound to be some stuff in there. If you feel lke servicing it yourself there is an axcess panel on the bottom and the back or take the whole front off the machine to service. You can try using a shop vac to suck the water out of the drain hose. The control should unlock the door when it sensed the water has drained or so it thinks.

Calypso...The pumps fail often. They have redisigned one that theres not as many problems with, but if you still have the original, this is deffinatly the problem. As far as clothes getting stuck, the U-Joints wear out and cause too much play allowing things to get stuck. Total for this repair parts + labor will usually run about 500-600. There was a class action lawsuit for this machine and they no longer make it.
first lets try to get the water out of washer, put on drain cycle, after it drains water out take clothes out of washer, then lets see if it will run on spin cycle, it may have to many clothes, if this does not help then you have a transmission problem, this will defenently need a technichan to look at it. if you need I can look in you area and see if I can find you some assistance.
Oil from transmission is a good possibility. The machine is still young but sounds like you do a lot with the washer. Better have a friend that don't mind looking it over, make sure that's oil and go from there!
I don't know if you are aware of this, but Maytag did a recall on this washer in March 2007 where there was a risk of water leaking into the control panel and shorting out the board. You can follow this link to see if your washer was affected based on the serial number:
Is the door locked and the Add A Garment or Add Clothes light off?
If the Add A Garment or Add Clothes light is off, then the washer
door will unlock after the Pause/Off or Pause/Cancel button is pressed
twice. The door will not immediately unlock while the cycle is running
due to a possible high-water level in the washer, high-water
temperature, tumbling or spinning. It may take up to five minutes for
the washer to stop spinning and draining before the door will unlock.
You will hear the door click when it unlocks.
You could also try their customer service number to see if they have a script for this problem: 1-800-688-9900
The only other solution I can offer is to disassemble your washer if its that urgent and you can't get a repairman out there.
