TV Switches itself back to standby mode continuously
When I switch the TV On from standby mode via the remote, the TV will switch itself off - or rather back to standby mode. This happens continuously until I have switched it back on - on average 20 times. This number varies from between 1 to 30.
It's as though the TV needs to warm up before deciding to stay on.
Any help is much appreciated.

Re: TV Switches itself back to standby mode continuously
If your remote is ok then this is due to power supply failure in your tv.
either it is loose in oscillator ckt in switching section or it has failed.
if not tech person call tech to fix it.
not a major problem.

Try pressing the small reset button on the back, it works, and you will not loose any stored information which caused the unit to go in the stand by mode.
Have you tried turning it off for an hour and then turning it back on. This happens to me quite often and leaving it off for a while ususally allows it to come back on. Also have you tried to press the TV/AV button on the remote as sometimes it switches to TV mode when its on standby and then standby won't work as its on TV mode and needs to go back on to AV mode. Basically just press the AV button on the digibox remote and then try standby.
if the batteries are removed and left for about 20 minutes before being replaced again, everything works as it should.
if any of the above suggestions does not work then you have to open the unit and on the main board of the tv there is a thin mini tube light like component called fuse you will have to replace that fuse .the fuse is very very cheap and you can easily get it at any electronics shop.and if still the unit does not work then there is a major fault in the power supply board and should be taken to the service center for diagnosing the fault that it is repairable or not.but i hope the above information provided will definately help you to solve your problem.
It could be one of a couple of problems really, the first one may be
that your analogue signal is being switched over to digital which is
happening across the UK at the moment, buying a digital receiver would
resolve this straight away. It could be a problem with the ariel
connection to the TV, check that its all pushed in properly at the back
of the TV. Failing this then its a problem with the TV set, the fact
that the set produces a picture on other sources (dvd) implies that if
it is a fault with the TV its with the ariel connection.
Try switching it off at the main switch on the TV. Then switch it back on from the same main switch on the TV. If the TV then comes on & works normally, then check the batteries in your remote control, they may need replacing.
Try Checking your remote and make sure it did not short out by taking out the batteries and see if it continues turning on and off. if so then i would recommend replacing the remote. if this does not work try putting tape over the ir receiver and see if it continues, this will check for interference.
