Equally spaced lines across page only on color copies

Brand new copier out of box. Only in copy mode there are equally spaced thin lines across the page, not in direction of paper feed. Internal prints look fine. Static on CCD chip?

If not in the direction of the paper feed then in the direction of the scan head. Dirt on the scan head or bad scan head or scan head connection. Send it back.

SOURCE: Horizontal White Banding

Most likely cause is that a roller has degraded during storeage. Measure the distance from the centre of the first band to the second and from the center of the second band to the third. If this dimesion is fairly constant you can work out exactly which roller is causing the problem. The most likely culprit will be the Photo Conductor Unit. This will give a large dimension - (approx the 29cm??) A service manual should give you the dimensions (circumferences) of the rollers within the machine. If you have a spare pcu around, put it in and see if it makes ANY difference.

SOURCE: Can't get the copier to scan only 8.5*11 area on glass

Set your original settings to the actual size.
You are using the auto recognition feature which is over-ridden when you specify the size manually.
It will try to match it to the nearest size it "knows". That is why the stamp is detecting so large.

Check for dirty cartridge, if lines are across page in equal spacing about an inch and a half thick then cartridge should be replaced.

Konica Minolta Bizhub c754e Blue Lines after installing new machine

The blue toner cartridge or drum are damaged. First, try a different toner cartridge. This will probably eliminate the lines.

Copier leaves a black line when printing through the top paper feeder. Ok coping from the flatbed

When copying from the feeder the page is fed across a fixed point at the head of the flatbed. Any dirt etc on the glass at this point can present as a dark line running vertically down the printed page. When copying from the flatbed, the scan head is moved down the page so any dirt on the glass will only appear as specs. Try cleaning the glass, especially at the head of the flatbed where the feeder is loading the page to be copied.

Faint red line across page when making color copies or printing in color from computer

Some possibilities are:

1) Dirt on the glass, dirt on the glass strip for the doc feeder, or dust on the mirrors. This would be the case if the line only showed when copying and not printing.

2) Toner dropped onto the charge sawtooth.
This may be possible if the line is intermittent and only showed up for 1 or 2 colors.
Open the front door and remove the waste toner box. To the left of each drum there is a green organ-stop type stem. Pull and reinsert each stem. You will hear a zipping noise. These are your charge scrubbers.
This may be not as likely if the line shows up in the same place on all 4 colors

3) Toner or dust on the lens
This may be possible if the line is intermittent and only showed up for 1 or 2 colors.
In the area where the waste toner box goes, look for a grey stick with a white cushion on the end. This is your lens scrubber. Look in the area under the charge scrubber on each drum cartridge for a gap. Insert the scrubber cushion side down into the gap and run it forward and back to clean the lens.
This may be not as likely if the line shows up in the same place on all 4 colors

4) Transfer belt blade not cleaning
This is best handled by a service tech since the mylar belt is very fragile. The squeegee blade that cleans the transfer belt between copies is missing a spot. The blade needs to be taken off the belt, cleaned and repowdered. Recently, Sharp made changes to the composition and thickness of the mylar in the transfer belts. Overpowdering the blade or belt when it was changed may cause improper cleaning of the belt creating lines across the copies. Often the condition clears up after a couple of days as the gap between the blade and belt is sealed.
This is most likely the cause as the line shows up in the same area for more than 1 color.

5) Transfer belt and/or blade is worn out
If the belt is worn the blade must be replaced but not vice versa.

6) Clogged waste augers in the drum cartridges.
Waste toner may cake up in the drum cartridge and knock loose on the drum.

It may be time for full maintenance on the machine.

Toner lines when I print

I don't think it is anything to do with the toner cartridge as this doesn't put the toner on the page seems to me that the drum unit is faulty either the cleaning blade has failed or the charge roller. Best thing to do is call a service engineer or copier company that deal with Richo or Rex Rotary.

Thanks J

Colored bars across page

I would try changing the ink cartridges and if you don't have a new set at least take out the ones you have and reseat. Also check Epson's site for new drivers. Try printing from a different program.
