Vizio m230vt Cannot adjust picture settings in custom on a pc

On the HDMI setting, I cannot adjust the picture settings even on the custom setting. Half of the options are skipped over like color, sharpness, color enhancement, etc. The options seem to be adjustable when on a tv setting. Is there any way to change these on a computer setting with an HDMI cable?

On the computer itself is where you would change the video resolution and additional settings

Your graphics card if Nvidia or ATI should have it's own display properties, settings.

Testimonial: "I have the settings as I want them on the computer, rather, I would like to remove the color enhancement on the monitor itself because it ruins certain colors. I was wondering if there was a way to do so on the custom setting on HDMI, as it won't let me change those and skips the selector over the options if I were to try to."

SOURCE: Edge Enhancement Option Disabled...

edge enhancement option i think would be enabled if you are in dynamic or movie mode. What it does is to enhance the contrast of the edges of 2 different colors.

I have the LA32S8, similar specs but only 7000:1 CONTRAST ratio. when playing dvd, i set it to movie mode. Settings vary on different tv and player. you can adjust first the backlight, then brightness then contrast, color and sharpness. the brightness you adjust by choosing the level that shows enough details on dark scenes. adjust if its too dark not to see the details of the scene. contrast, you can set by distiguishing vivid colors of the picture, dont put too much contrast as your picture would look flat. it should have a 3d look, same also with sharpness, you can experiment on the face of a person to show details on the edges.
color you set just enough to make it accurate on color reproduction.

My settings for movie are
contrast 92
brightness 49
sharpness 23
color 57
tint g48 r52
backlight 7
tone warm1
digital NR off
black adjust high
dynamic ocntrast high
gamma +2
edge enhancement on
color space auto

Is the HDMI port 2 work? Try to turn it off and turn it back on. If it is still not working then the HDMI ports have gone bad. You will need to replace the main board.

SOURCE: Vizio LCD Green Pixels

Our Vizio started doing the same thing after only three weeks, except it was also showing green pixel when we watched DVDs.  After checking this site and others and trying all the "tweaking" advised, I finally called Vizio's customer support.  They were extremely polite and tried to help over the phone, but had to send someone to the house to make the repair (anything 40 inches or larger earns a house call). The tech arrived on time and was extremely professional and pleasant -- he had to replace the daughter board and LVDS cables.  So far, so good.

Short answer: no. Does the TV power on with the "V" logo screen? What are your custom picture settings?

My VIZIO 1080P cannot connect thru HDMI cable To My Laptop

Just use the VGA/PC input instead. It requires an rs232 cable. It's HD and will automatically adjust the proper settings for the display.

Vizio won't let me adjust the Brightness.

You are not in the screen menu, you are in the audio menu or you are not even in the settings menu at all.

Vizio picture

It looks like your picture is zoomed, that control should be on your remote. Or change your picture ratio. Tints are all messed up. I would bring everything back down to black and white and start adjusting back up. To do this you have to be in picture mode custom (your pic shows your in standard mode). Everything else is preset for you. Go into all your settings and make adjustments. I also own a Vizio. It took me several attempts to adjust the picture to my liking.

Cannot adjust picture size on vizio

If the picture size isn't changing with the television's picture size adjustment setting there could be a few things going on. Check to see that you're in the right input on the television i.e. if you are connected to a high definition receiver make sure you are not in the tv/tuner input (tv display would say analog channel 3 or 4). Make sure your tv is switched to the high definition input i.e. component 1 hdmi 1 and etc. If you are in the high definition input already check and see that your cable box or satellite tv receiver is set to the proper resolution. For example if you have a 720p television make sure the cable box is set to 720p not 1080i. Last but not least look for the hd zoom # button on the cable remote. The button may also say format or aspect.

Sony 60 in LCD edge LED TV: Hooked up new TV to a cable box - have HD picture but no sound. TV speakers say on. Makes sound when TV channel is changed (static). But nothing when input cable (via HDMI) is...

Your cable box most likely has a setting for audio HDMI such that HDMI sound is turned ON etc. rather than standard audio. Also check the TV settings for HDMI audio being set to ON. This should be a simple fix. HDMI audio usually is just a user setting adjustment and nothing more. Somewhere in your on-screen menus you should find the place to adjust HDMI audio.

No audio on vizio from source

there should not be a special setting that you need. When hooking the analog audio to the HDMI 2 input, it should read automatically. Note: The HDMI Input is for HD Video and will only support 640x480 at 60Hz from a PC. Use the RGB
PC input for a greater selection of PC formats.
