Good day sir. i got AMD M82XT HYBRID 256MB discrete graphics within lenovo T400 lap-top. I suppose that refers to an ati mobility radeon graphics (possibly 3470, not sure). suddenly i lost this discrete graphic card, and it switched to intel chipset series 4 integrated graphics now. I cannot see M82XT chip in device manager any more ;( Would you help me bring back discrete graphic on this lap-top. Thanks, Branko
Here is the ATI driver page on the Lenovo support site. They list the XP driver for your model. Download and reinstall to see if this solves your problem. If you get errors or if you are not running XP please post beneath this thread with additional info so I can follow up with you...
If I'm not mistaken you should have a taskbar utility or something which will allow you to access the ATI control panel for special features and such but that's kind of odd that the hardware isn't listed in the device manager. Do I read correctly that you have your problem solved though?
john and (no only lenovo drivers work!!! here)
Gehisser Dupuy wants more answers to this question ,ok hyjacking year 2009 wow.
lenovo T400 lap-top. (first use lenovo drivers)
no full model number stated, T400-xyzabc....???

this is the list on wiki, see? yours>? post it.
also off the t400 wiki
OP Posted no OS, my guess XP trash?
we see
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
Switchable Graphics with Intel GMA 4500MHD
and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 (256 MB)
That means what, it means only Lenovo drivers work.
period due that that very odd AND word switch there.
Lenovo engineers took the 2 drives and made one, that use there custom switch,
do you understand that and the ramifications for that fact? custom lenovo drivers, only
a FACT.
the facts are that many folks sadly think
all laptops are the same, false
all T400s are the same, false not even close.
or laptops have PCI-e GPU cards, they dont.
nor does it have 2 GPU chips, on some.
some are XP loaded others are VISTA
both are bad bad ideas.
is see lots of post on lenovo forum back in 2009 on drivers missing and links to them all missing now.
lost of update from Vista to W7 an sound dead
or thinkVantage system update (TVSU) , failures.
and XP to w7
are you upgrading or freshloading w7? have are will?
The VTSU update page is still goodhttps://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutio...
the lenovo video on support
says goto
www.support.lenovo.com
here is the T400 pages
https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/search?...
rumor has it only w7 is the only version newer that runs on this odd duck GPU wise.
it is and ugly duckling.
and 350+ MS updates, wow. 2 days to get.

O my Guru,
I might've made a mistake.
It's ThinkPad T400 with discrete graphics, at least, it used to be, till this mobile intel(r) 4 series chipset appeared. Before, device manager listed AMD M82XT.
Thanks, I go try installing this 7yd121ww.exe
Blessings,
Branko

Hey, Jell587.
I went to an updated BIOS which had been choosen integrated graphic by default, so i turned discrete graphic there, and now i got 3400 series of ATI as display driver in device manager. At first, I disabled Intel 4 series chipset, which i probable need not have to do. Never mind.
So the BIOS switched it to integrated.
The only thing that still differs from an original state when I got the lap-top, is I still do not see MT82XT in DeviceManager.
Thank you so much,
Branko
