GLEH1642DS1 FRONT LOAD STACKABLE WASHER MAKING LOUD THUMPING NOISE IN SPIN CYCLE & SQEALS WHEN i STOP IT

When my washer went into the spin cycle the faster it went the louder the thumping noise became. I stopped the machine and repositioned clothes, but the noise continued. When I stop the machine there is a very loud squeal.

Sounds like you have an unbalanced load. I know this sounds too easy but lots of times this is the issue. If it doesn't help then you could have a bearing issue where the belt goes around a pully under the tub itself. If so you will have to replace the pully itself and perhaps the belt if it's gotten worn too much.

Hello,have to tell you that most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping noise during the spin, the load of cloth may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the cloths, then restart the machine. Repeat these steps if necessary.

if still the problem then ,Motor is kicking on and off making that noise....so far for us this has been a motor issue 9.5 times out of 10.
