My steam mop heats but doesn't steam. almost every time I used it, I used distilled water

Try filling the tank with pure white vinegar and plug it in, pump the handle to get the vinegar through the hose and let it sit for a half hour to dissolve any gunk that is built up, CLR works well for this also. Once it has sat, empty the tank and fill with fresh water.

Why doesn't the water pick up on my carpet shampooer???

Hi Julie! If the cleaner is not picking up the dirty water this usually means something is not sealed off properly. Try these steps below to restore suction to your cleaner.

1. Remove the clean water tank. Recline the handle & let the handle lie down on the floor.
2. Remove the dirty water tank. Check that the dirty water tank cap is on the dirty water tank and tightened closed.
3. Clear the filter screen of any hair or debris.
4. Remove the nozzle. Clean the nozzle of any hair or debris.
5. Located on the machine behind the nozzle is a 2nd filter screen. Clean it of any hair or debris.
6. Replace the nozzle.
7. Replace the dirty water tank. Press down on all sides so that it is flush to the cleaner base.

Give it a try! The suction should be restored to your cleaner. If not I have included a video link where you may view these instructions. Hope this helps! Loss of Suction Won pick up Hoover Max Extract 77 FH50230 FH50222...

Why is my retrieval tank light on when its empty hoover f8100900

Hi Tara! Try removing the dirty water tank and replacing it. If the dirty water tank is seated properly, you may have an issue with the sensor on the cleaner. We recommend taking the cleaner in to a Hoover authorized service center. Please follow the link to locate the nearest location to you. Thanks!

How do I fix pin at bottom of clean water tank?

Replace the part. This might mean buying a whole new water tank. You can order most parts online. Have your make and model ready. Find a site by google. ie if it's a hoover enter, "hoover parts".

Overheating

After replacing or refurnish engines head is recommended to replace water pump and inspect thermostat, radiator, and cooling fan. Most of the time engines overheat is because there is not enough water circulation thru the head due to malfunctioning water pump, radiator, thermostat and or radiator's cooling fan. By just fixing the damaged head you may not be solving the problem that originally burned your head gasket.

Can't remove the filter from my Pur Flavor Options faucet mount water filter

When mine gets stuck I stick the handle of a fork or spoon into the hole where the water comes out and use that to unscrew it. Works like a charm every time.

Water Filter Leaks

Since you weren't very specific where it leaks or when it started (like after a filter change) it could be tough to troubleshoot this leak.

If it is leaking at the faucet connection try tightening up where it screws onto the faucet. Depending on your strength (or lack of) you may need to use pliers to get a tight connection. Don't go crazy tight or it will crack the plastic fitting. If it still leaks remove the unit from the faucet and check the rubber washer inside where it screws onto the faucet. Make sure it's still there and is centered inside the cup and seated properly. Then reattach the unit to the faucet and tighten it well.

If it's leaking from the main body try removing the filter and reinstalling it making sure you have seated the filter properly and screwed on the cover correctly, and all the way. When it is tight the water outlet will be exactly at the bottom of the unit. Sometimes it's tricky getting it tight enough especially with wet hands.

Finally, if the leak is coming from the filter on/off selector this could be tough to fix. I would try firmly pushing and pulling the selector knob in and out several times while in both the on and off positions. This may re-seat the leaking seal. I wouldn't be too hopeful about this fix though. You may need to replace the unit if this part is leaking.
