Typhoon myguide 3500 xl gps has navigater 2 on will tomtom load and how unit 2year old

Dear friend, i can tell you that , i bought tomtom program for pocket pc from ebay, and i was able to use tomtom on typhoon my guide3500 for years as taxi driver in uk,only you need to crack it once in a while as it get stuck due too many application being runnuing, ,it does work and, tomtom from ebay cost me 5 pounds only,hope this help

Download map update

the tom tom comes with a usb cable that plugs it to the usb port on the computer. When pluged in to the usb port it should automaticly take you to the tomtom web sight where you can download maps

If you bought your TomTom brand new, the first time you installed the TomTom Home software, you may have received a message that a free map upgrade was available. If you did not receive that message, then either the unit is up to date, or it was not new.
You can check the version of map you're using by going to the TomTom Home software, and from the main menu, click the "More" button to get to page 2. From there, choose "Manage my ONE XL", and click on the "Items on Device" tab.
Click the "+" sign to the left of the word "Maps", then click the "More Info" link to discover the version of map you are using. The most current version (as of December 1, 2009) is 840.2568.
If that is not your version and you believe you're entitled to it, call TomTom technical support and state your case. Otherwise, if you want this version of map, you will need to purchase it.
When trying to load a new map onto your device, make sure you first run the backup routine (in TomTom Home) to back up the old map. After downloading a new map, but before it can be installed, you'll need to remove the old map, since there isn't enough room on the device to have both maps loaded simultaneously.

Hi I cant set my home address on my Typhoon myguide 3500 go. There is no function to be able to type.

Yes you can. Delete from the SD card the directory : "SAVE" than you can set it.

Up date maps

To update maps you should run Tom Tom home on your computer and then connect the GPS

It will then ask you if you want to connect to the computer and you would tell your GPS yes.

Tom Tom home will once it finds your GPS then proceed to do any minor updates.

If your map is out of date it will offer you the option of purchasing a newer version.

don't be tempted to look for free / pirate maps !
These can cause problems in starting up your GPS (believe me)

Tom Tom map prices are not too bad and compared to many GPS are quite easy to install using Tom Tom home.
