Need to download the software to be able to download and work with my pictures
New computer, lost my disc to download, so now I can't download pictures to my computer because I need the Camedia Master disc. Can I get it somewhere or something else on line to download? I like Camedia because that program lets you crop, zoom, etc. thanks

With all digital cameras the maker delivers a CD (DVD) with software to install on your computer. This makes it possible to put the pictures from the camera on any computer. On the disk(s) are drivers for all operating systems that need them. (Windows 7 and up do have all drivers for hardware that is certified by Microsoft) And there are programs to download the pictures from the camera to the PC. Sometimes the manufactures also delivers software to organise the pictures in folders and software to view or even enhance the pictures you shot.
When you lost the disk, most of the time you can get the software on the website for your brand. Sometimes you even get newer, updated software and new drivers if needed.
If you can't get software form your brand, you always can install other generic software like Ulead, Pixir, BeFunkey, Gimp, Photoshop express. Or if that is not possible you could install an external memory card reader and download the pictures via de memory card reader.
A lot of people assume that they must use the cable and sofware that came with the camera in order to download their photos. The problem is that the cable/camera way is very problematic.
This link outlines a solution to that lost cable, lost software disc, or computer that just fails to recognize the camera.
The software CD would not help you unless you have a very old OS. Your best option is to invest ($10 - $15, sometimes less) in a CF card reader with a USB connector. If you have Windows XP or newer, or any version of Mac OS X, your computer will see the card reader (and your card) as a separate drive, and you will be able to download the pictures right off the card.
dont need a disc, just plug in your camera via usb or memory card, turn power on camera, click ok for computer transfer on the camera,if nothing happens, go to my cmputer find the removable device thats new in your computer, right click on it,click open, then double click on dcim, next double click on sscam.your picture should start to appear.good luck.hope i helped
You are able to connect the camera and download without the software as long as the driver is there. Try going to www.powershot.com to download the latest driver update for your camera and your operating system.
I couldn't find any software that could make your mp4 works, but if you have windows XP you don't need to have a Cd. The computer by itself recognize it. Also if you have the cable just plug it in the new computer and he will recognize it if it is windows XP. but if you have Windows Vista you will have to buy the Disc. I hope my answer helped you .. Thank you
