Audio trouble with my c240

I've just recently been having trouble with my 1GB c240. The sound on any song I play goes in and out and I have to keep adjusting the headphones in order to correct the problem. I know it's not the headphones because I bought 2 new pair and they work fine on a different mp3 player I own but didn't correct the problem for my c240. Any suggestions?

I also wanted to add that the audio sounds similar to a casette tape when it goes bad.

I have a similar problem with my Sansa c240 and I know it isn't the jack because it corrects itself as soon as it starts a new song or restarts the current song. One channel, sometimes right, sometimes left, gets really soft and distorted(scratchy)

Try it!!!!! I also had the same problem and I was ready to get a new one. you need some pretty strong air pressure. But it really does work!!! God Bless. Jesus Saves!!!

Sounds like the jack itself has a short in it. Try blowing it out with some pressurized air. Hopefully its just got crud in it.
