Wireless mouse stops working after reconnect

All of a sudden, the only way I can get my mouse to work is to reconnect, then it only works for 5-10 seconds and freezes. It won't resync and stay connected. However the wireless keyboard stays synced. I noticed this happening after I cleaned off my keyboard with a dry towel, I think I may have depressed a button on the keyboard causing it not to work properly?? Does anyone know what button this could be?

You should get your mouse replaced if it is under by warranty. The cause may be falling from the desk or even a sudden tap may get the battery contacts unreliable. No use with cleaning or soldering the contacts, this may happen again.

My Genius Traveler 6000x wireless mouse suddenly stopped working

Double check the batteries, although the lights work and the computer sees it, the voltage could drop low enough to stop the sensors.

next, try another USB device in that plug. USB port can go bad.

If the port works, it could be the wireless USB connector starting to fail, if they are bumped to hard sideways it can cause loose connections internally.

then, you might just need to update drivers. Computer update s can conflict with drivers cause devices toss top working.

Seems like new batteries did the trick. Should start simple.

But I am not totally convinced. I will keep an eye on it.

Ensure the batteries are new or fully charged, if rechargeables. Then try reconnecting them.
