Question about Kenmore 77632 Gas Dryer
I have a Kenmore gas dryer. When the gas turns on it created a high pitched squeal. When the gas turns off the squeal stops. I have taken off the bottom front panel and can watch this happen as the flame turns on and off. Would the regulator or the burner orifice cause the noise? Can it be fixed?
SOURCE: Flame does not seem hot enough - too much yellow flame.
In a gas dryer, heat is provided by a gas heater that is controlled by an air shutter. The gas heater is generally the source of no-heat or drying problems. You can often correct such problems by adjusting the air shutter on the gas burner, which is located along the bottom of the dryer.
To adjust the shutter, take out the screws and remove the panel that covers the gas flame. Turn on the dryer so the flame is burning. If the flame has a deep blue color and you hear air whistling around the burner, the air/gas mixture is receiving too much air. If the flame has a yellow tip, the mixture is not receiving enough air. Turn the thumbscrew or loosen the two screws slightly to increase or decrease the flow of air to the burner. Keep turning until the flame is a light blue color, without any yellow, and the whistling stops.

SOURCE: Remove front panel - no heat and buzzing sound
Hi, If the lint screen is at the top of the dryer, remove the screws located at the lint screen. Then pry the top by inserting something flat into the gap between the top and the front panel. Now locate the screw inthe upper inside corners and remove them. Now the front will lift up and release from the cabinet.
If the lint screen is inside the door, the lower half front panel will release and let you see under the drum.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

SOURCE: my kenmore gas dryer ignites and the flame shuts off after 10 sec
The valve on the pilot may need to be replaced. The springs get worn and wont stay up. Otherwise you could replace the entire pilot unit with a kit.
