Check the key carefully, a one(1) can look like an 'i' or 'l' (L) or vice versa.

Dell dimension 2400 network adapter driver

The Dell Dimension 2400 drivers are available here: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/product/dimension-2400 . Use another computer to visit the site and make sure that Microsoft XP shows in the OS search drop down. Expand the section labeled Network. The wired network adapter is a Broadcom 4401. The direct link to the latest driver (V. 3.63 released 8/5/2003) page is http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/Product/dimension-2400?driverId=R64645&osCode=WW1&fileId=2731129724&languageCode=en&categoryId=NI .

A more recent driver for XP is available from Broadcom at: http://www.broadcom.com/support/ethernet_nic/4401.php . Select the driver for the 32-bit version for XP.

I hope this helps.

I have a dell dimesion 2300. I Just bought a dell dimesion 2400 on amazon.com it has windows xp on it and it came with no disk. can I install my dell 2300 windows xp operation cd on the 2400 if I ever need...

Generally, yes, if it's the same version, (e.g., "Home Edition, or "Professional", etc. Then the Operating System disk should get you going well enough to start all the necessary updates You may need to go to Dell and download the model specific driver files, updates, etc. to get everything !00%
Make sure you have the right Microsoft Product key for the installation.
Best thing you can do is back up your system and keep it somewhere separate, with all this info. There are many good free utilities for system specs., such as Belarc Advisor. It's easier to fix a broken system when you can automatically put everything right from backups, where ever possible. You are thinking ahead, instead of after a disaster!
Good luck.!

Ihave a dell dimension 2400 It is windows xp home edition. What cd would I order to restore it back to factory setting. I would appricatae it thank you Karen

Hi. I have a dell optiplex gx240, and I has to do this exact same thing to it.
You can download an iso image from the microsoft windows xp website, it is service pack3. Then just burn the image to a cd, and then take out the cd and put it back in.

It should autolaunch on it's own when you puit it back in.
When it gives you your choices, select repair install, if it offers, otherwise just let it run as normal.
You won't lose any programs, because you are just replacing the operating system to fresh, not the files as well. All your programs should still be there, all the short-cuts, everything.

Then once it's done, eject the disk, and revoot.
Your computer should be good as new, and maybe even a little faster!

Usually you can call Dell or HP or whomever sold you the computer and request replacements. These are usually free or available for a small fee.

I need registration key

If your computer is the 2400 like the catagory you have posted to, then your product key should already be on the side of your computer. If you lost it but still have the original disk set that came with the machine, You can reinstall from the original Dell disks and not be asked to activate your product since the key and activation are preloaded from the Dell factory disk. Otherwise you will have to buy a product key from a computer store. It will probably have to be purchased from a small computer store or online since places like Best Buy and Staples were forced to stop selling the XP products in January. The average price for an OEM CD with Certificate of authenticity is about $99 depending on where you get it. Hope this helps...

How do I change boot order on Dell Diminsion 2400 XP Home?

Have you tried using a boot disk that gives you cdrom support?

If not, download those files and make a floppy boot disk, then set bios to boot from floppy and toss that disk in.

I think this website should have the files you need

Hope that helps you

You can request a copy from microsoft but they will charge you. Do you have a recovery CD came with your PC? if not the best way is to ask your friends for the CD but use your own product key, it should be on the label on the computer. Good Luck :)
