The oven has a granite work top above it. When cooking the oven gives out a lot of steam between it and the granite. The control panel above the oven door gets too hot to touch.

Either the seals need to be replaced, or you may have weak oven door hinges, and the door is not closing properly.
Only solution would be to replace both hinges if this is the case.
Please rate my solution.
Thankyou.

If you take the hinges off, you can fit some washers between the hinges and the door to make it close it further. Probably not as good as new hinges, but cheaper. 2mm of washers will close a 5mm gap

The F1 code means the ERC or the touchpad is bad.
F1 fault code generally implies that the electronic oven control
has detected an internal malfunction. Most likely the cause is a
shorted keypad which would require a new electronic control board. The
electronic control board internal checksum may have been corrupted
which also would require a new electronic control board. The control
also may have sensed a potential runaway oven condition. The control
may have a shorted relay, RTD sensor probe may have gone bad. The RTD
is the oven temperature sensor probe which needs to be ohmed and the
resistance should be 500 ohms or more at room temperature. If the
resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace the oven sensor. Normally a
technician is needed to make this check.
I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your oven.

you can replace touch pad and not very hard to do,you may want to replace control board also.

Hi, well this is a brain tester!! I think you need really to look at this in a simple way. Check to see where the door lock wires come from first? Find where the mains power comes into? then if it goes directly to the main control board then check to see if there is any power getting through the board to the otherside where the wires disapear into the cooker. I would consider checking the control board for any signs of burn damage and then look at the clock unit to as these are normally the main components in the cooker that will stop it from working.
Good luck,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
