Question about LG LD450EAL 45 Pint Dehumidifier

Says bucket full and it is empty

The machine will not run it says bucket full. It is empty, tried several times to pull bucket out and put it back in to see if that helped it did not. Turned off, unplugged...nothing works. Cleaned filter, still nothing. Is there a fix?

There is a float switch somewhere to measure the level of water in the bucket. That switch is out of position or broken. This can happen if you are not careful removing and re-installing the bucket. Look at the area around the bucket and you should be able to find and fix the switch. Make sure the power is off when you are doing this.

Hi,

I am sorry to hear regarding the problem. This is a common problem and unfortunately, there is no small fix for the same.This indicates that the sensor assembly is bad and would need to be replaced. Be advised that the "sensor" is the part that measures if there is water in the bucket or not. It's refered to commonly as a bucket switch but the sensor is the same part you'll need to order and replace.

SOURCE: Stopped running

Unit will not run. Pull plug and restart will run for about 5 seconds then turns off. "bucket full" circuit seems to be the culpret. Switch checks out "OK" but light still come on and the unit will not run. Soulutions?

When full bucket light comes on water is emptied and bucket put back in position. Fan will start and then the full bucket light comes back on beeps and shuts off.
You have to be sure bucket is replaced exactly where it should go or the bucket will hold the switch in, thinking it is full. If you have a floor drain close by,remove the bucket and set the dehumidifier over or next to drain so water will go down it,then you don't worry about bucket getting full.If it doesn't run with bucket off, maybe defective switch. unhook wires to the bucket switch and hook or tape together,if dehumidifier runs then switch is bad. The "bucket full" light blinks even after the
Eddie, turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Then remove the bucket and check the float valve in the top of the bucket. It may be stuck in the 'UP' position or is broken. When reinstalling the the bucket, be sure that it fit's "squarely" from top to bottom in the bucket holder and is making firm contact with the bucket safety removal switch on the rear wall of the bucket holder.

Has been running fine. my daughter emptied it yesterday morning and didn't put the catch container back in the machine properly and a red light (small round) on top left of machine was on when I went...
Actually, the fan shouldn't be working if the water bucket is not installed properly. So, I believe it's more of a case of the electronic controls need to be reset.

To accomplish this, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit for 15 minutes.
After the time as elapsed, plug the unit in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. The Bucket Full light should not, now be ON. And the unit can function as it should, after you reset the controls for maximum humidity extraction (32 - 35%).

Emptied water, put container back in and tried to start again. It turned on then went off (did this several times) and then just quit. Have checked the elec. plugs, outlet, etc. Did the whole procedure...
It's probably the bucket's trigger switch. It mat be loose or out of alignment. Remove the bucket and test it (trigger it) with the tip of a small flat blade screwdriver, to see if it will start. If it does, that's the problem.

It should resart on its own after putting the empty bucket back in. The beep is to let you know that the bucket full and it shuts off the humidifier until the bucket is emptied and put back into the proper position.

I have found this issue to be pretty common on alot of LG dehumidifiers. Try and reseat the bucket so the left and right sides where the bucket meets the dehumidifier are both flush with the dehumidifier. The issue usually is you will notice that the left side sticks out a little farther than the right side. If this is the case that means the bucket s not fully engaged with the sensor and it will keep running even when the bucket is full. If you reseat the bucket and both sides are not even try reseating it again until both sides are flush. Once they are flush let t run and keep an eye on it the first time running it like this. You should notice the full bucket light when the bucket is full now. If you found this solution helpful please rate it.
