its a snap-type plug-in stand, just hold the stand firmly and pull the monitor equally upward, then it will snap quickly....... but a proffessional reminder! Before mounting your SyncMaster on a wall, be sure to plug the two (2) stand holes located at the buttom of the monitor. My Samsung SyncMaster 2333HD LCD TV was twice intruded by adult-size lizard, both incident resulted to main power board damaged!!!!
It sounds like it since you have the 14v going to the inverter. Repairing inverter boards even on lcd's is 50/50 shot, so let's give it a go. If you have a dvm check the ohms on the inverter xformers ( if more than one) they should be identical in resistance. Check or replace all electrolytic caps on the board. That's about all you can do outside of replacing it, Oh, see if you have a 5v source going to in inv. bd also, check that.
The inverter board has probably failed. Mine turned out to be the clamping diodes on the inverter. It would act like it was firing up but shut down just as the screen would normally come up. I replaced the diodes and it fired right up and has been working great since.
I too have the same problem with the same monitor.. tv looks great OSD looks great.. pc is dim.. This has nothing to do with the inverter board or the backlight.. I believe that there is an issue with the components that render the Computer video.
