Is this model digital ready or analog? The back label displays the year "2000", and I believe digital televisions were first manufactured in "1998"

I think that digital televisions were first manufactured in 1998, and my model F20645 television displays the year 2000 on the back label. Is this model digital ready or analog? Thanks, Terry Pearson

This is a RCA television if I'm not mistaken, and you will need a digital converter box. This tv will not support HD viewing.

Call your local cable company to see if you will need to purchase a digital converter box. It all depends on if you have a cable box through your service or not. But as for your tv, you WILL need something to help it receive digital signals

Is the Rca true flat digital

I'd need the model number to tell if the RCA TV has a digital (ATSC) or analog (NTSC) tuner. The mandate for inclusion of the ATSC tuner depended on the size of the TV and the year of manufacture. Small (<25" diagonal) TVs didn't need to have an ATSC tuner when they were built until 2007. The older TVs could still be sold with a "cable-ready" or similar NTSC only label. (The 32"+ TVs had to have the ATSC tuners in 2005 and the mid-size TVs had to have the digital tuners in 2006.)

For example the 27F530T was manufactured in 2003 and only has a NTSC tuner. However, the 20F424T was manufactured in 2008 and does have an ATSC tuner.

I hope this helps.

Is your RCA model E13341 made May 2000 digial or analog? It is cable ready.

It's got an analog tuner (NTSC) so you'll need a digital-to-analog converter to watch OTA TV.

I hope this helps.

I bought a used simmons crib and it does not come with manual. I think the model looks like the Pali Katie Crib. Here is the model number 0177201 00 243. Do you have the manual or can you direct me where I...

www.simmonsjp.com I believe there is a recall on this crib model.. you should check it out..can contact Simmons anytime at (800) 421-2951 or at www.simmonsjp.com/recall.cfm
Simmons is offering a free repair kit, which includes replacement brackets and instructions. The repair can be made easily in the home.

Most of the recalled Simmons cribs were made in 1998. Those sold at Sears were made in 1998, 1999 and 2000. Only "98" cribs of all models are recalled, except for Sears cribs. For Sears cribs (which are model numbers 025260 and 065060), the years "98" "99" and "00" are recalled because the problem bracket hooks were used all three years. The brackets on all other Simmons cribs except for Sears changed to different type attachments after 1998. The cribs were sold under the name "Little Folks". Simmons and the two-digit year of manufacture are written on a label affixed to the crib's headboard. The year is the two-digit number following the model number. "Little Folks" is on another label affixed to the headboard. The cribs are constructed of maple or ash, and are painted or stained in more than a dozen different colors, including natural, golden and white. "Simmons" is written on the top rail. Simmons will help consumers identify if their crib is recalled.

Is this TV digital ready

According to http://www.dtv.gov/consumercorner.html#faq9

How can I be sure that I am buying a digital TV (DTV)?
By law, beginning March 1, 2007, all television reception devices (including TVs, VCRs, DVRs, etc.) imported into the U.S. or shipped in interstate commerce must contain a digital tuner. Retailers may continue to sell analog-only devices from existing inventory, but must prominently display on or near the analog-only device a Consumer Alert label with this advisory:

What is the difference between “Integrated” DTVs and DTV or HDTV “Monitors”?
An Integrated DTV set is a television with a built-in digital tuner (also referred to as “a DTV”). A digital tuner is also sometimes called a DTV decoder or DTV receiver. If you have an Integrated DTV, you will not need any additional equipment, with the exception of a broadcast antenna (either a rooftop antenna or “rabbit ears” connected to the set), to receive over-the-air digital broadcast programming. Integrated DTVs can also receive and display analog broadcast programming, so you can continue watching analog broadcasts.
In contrast, a DTV Monitor is not capable of receiving digital broadcast programming without additional equipment; it is simply a display device without the processing capability for DTV reception. A digital or HD set-top box must be connected between the antenna and the monitor to receive and display over-the-air digital or HD programming.
If you have a digital or HD “Monitor” and would like to purchase a digital or HD set-top box to view over-the-air programming, confirm with your retailer that the set-top box is compatible with your Monitor.

Dtv ready?

Going to the following link will help you to find out if your television is DTV ready or not:

http://www.dtvtransition.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=51&Itemid=94

Using their online tool, select the Brand (Akai) and the Model from the list. If you cannot find your model in the list (which I was not able to for your television), they are saying that you most likely do not have a digital tuner.

All is not lost, however. As stated on the aforementioned site, you can consider one of the following options:

  • Purchase a digital-to-analog converter box that plugs into an existing television. The boxes, which are expected to cost between $40 - 70 will be available for purchase in 2008. Beginning in February 2008, U.S. households can request up to two coupons valued at $40 each. Each coupon can go toward the purchase of a single set-top converter box that will allow you to continue watching FREE "over-the-air" television on an analog set.
  • Subscribe to a cable, satellite or telecommunications service provider if all desired local broadcast stations are carried by that service.
  • Purchase a new television set with a built in digital tuner.

Listed on the page is further information that may help you to determine the status of your TV:

  • Consult your owner's manual. If that's not possible, you may be able to look up information about your TV set on the manufacturer's website. Or, you can take an up-close look at your TV set. You are trying to find out if your set has an input connection labeled "digital input" or "ATSC" (for Advanced Television Systems Committee, which is developing the DTV format).
  • If you bought your TV set before 1998, it probably doesn't have a digital tuner at all. Almost every TV set made before 1998 was a traditional "analog" set that can't display digital TV signals without either a special converter or a cable TV connection. If you bought a big-screen, projection TV between 1998 and 2004, it's possible there's a built-in digital tuner inside. But chances aren't great. Only a limited percentage of projection TV sets (and generally only those 42 inches in diameter or larger) included digital tuners before 2004.
  • If you've purchased a new TV set since 2004, your chances of having a built-in digital tuner improve dramatically. Starting in 2004, many of the TV sets sold at popular electronics stores have featured digital tuners that will let you receive the new digital over-the-air broadcasts starting in February 2009. But be wary: It's not a sure thing. Even some of the newer TV sets are purely display monitors that lack the internal circuitry needed to pick up digital broadcasts. Usually these sets have been advertised as "HD-ready" or "HDTV monitor" sets. That means they can display digital and high-definition signals, but they need help getting those signals in the first place. You'll still need a special converter or a cable TV connection.

Don't understand about digital and analog

Hi, The TV has an analog tuner only and so is not DTV ready. You will require a seperate set top box to receive digital programs with it. If you have brought the set recently it should have had an appropriate warning label on it. If not ,you may have some come back with the store which sold it.(depends on the country where purchased)
