I bought a used PS3 at a pawn shop. How do I sign up for a PlayStation Network account if the system only says sign in and has the old users email address in there.

From Google:
"From the top level of the PlayStation 3 Home Menu, go to Settings > [System Settings] > [Restore Default Settings]. Once you select [Restore Default Settings], you will see a list of settings that will be restored. Scroll through them and press torestore the settings.Jul 20, 2017"

If you search Google for: "factory reset a PS3" you will find only 1,920,000 other results.

Enjoy!

I own the PS3 and my stepson created a master account now I cant do anything with it. How do I delete and create a new one?

Deleting a master account is simple, just be logged in as that account, highlight that user in the Users list, hit triangle and select "delete". After confirming that user will no longer be on your PS3 (this will also wipe your sub account, most likely).

Now, make a new master user in the Users list with the name you want and go to the "sign up for the PlayStation network" logo in the PlayStation network section. When going through the process select "master account" and enter the log in details. You most likely will have to use a new e-mail address as I do not believe you can upgrade a sub account to a master.

ok did you use your first account as a master account if yes go to that and change settings for 2nd account if no go to security settings and change that if that doesnt work turn off then hold the on/off button on the ps3 untill you hear an extra beep (bout 5 seconds later) and that will fix the problem for you
