Question about LG 42PC1DA 42 in. Plasma HDTV

1 Answer

LG plasma I can't see a regular cable hook up at the back of the tv. I've never had a plasma before, should i be looking for something different? I just want to hook up my cable cord to my tv. Also we don't have the proper remote. I bought a uni remote and it turns the tv on and off....the volume goes up on the screen but we can't get any sound.

Yes,there is a cable RF connector on the back of this TV (see diagram). After you connect the cable you need to access the menu to autoprogram the channels.Since you don't have the original remote to do this, you might be able to work thru the menus using the menu button on the TV itself.

Screen is flickering after changing tv configuration on settings page

If you've changed your Wii's output setting to 480p but are still using the regular red/white/yellow cable, that could be the problem. 480p output is only possible using the component (red/white/red/blue/green) cable.

How do i hook regular cable to Maxent MX-42EPM20 42 in. EDTV Plasma Television

Hello,
Your Maxent MX-42EPM20 is not a TV (Television) it is a Plasma panel. The difference being your Panel does not a TV Tuner (no Coax jack or electronics relating to a tuner) Below is the spec sheet that shows this

You can use a cable box or a cheap Digital TV receiver. You can buy them at walmart, You need one with A/V out puts such as Component. Here is a link to one. This will give you a tuner.

We just got a new cable box and now the Picture works but no sound. The volume is not muted on the tv or cable box. We've tried connecting the cable box three different ways and still get the same...

Does say a dvd player give sound when connected to the same input? If you have determined that the source is good and the speakers are turned on in the menu then I would replace the main board.

HD channels look terrible

You may not have the resolution set to hd even though you are on the channel. Confirm that you are using hd cable and your set is displaying 720p or greater. This will sometimes pop up on the screen when you tune to a hd channel. it sounds like you are on 480 i or p. good luck

How do you hook up regular coax cable to the TV?

You simply need an "F" connector to "Belling-Lee" converter. about $4.00. At any Radio Shack, Antenna shop. This screw onto the end of the existing antenna connection & makes it so you can plug it into the Socket at back of set.
I have included a link that has a picture.

What cables are needed to put tv on wall

Hello Numty,

Dont waste your £££ on gold plated they make no difference the back of your telly will be alley as well as all the things your connecting it to.

If I was you I would case the following cable into the wall. I would definetely put at least one scart in the wall.... this could be used for DVD, Sky, etc... I would run 3 HDMI in the wall... this would future proof you. ie when the cost of Blue ray player, etc come down in price.
playstation, Blue ray, Sky+ HD box etc etc. The last thing you want to do is have to chase the wall again.

There is a tool I saw in Maplin and Screw fix It attaches to a regular drill and is set at an angle. Makes chasing walls a Lot easier.

Hope this has clarified things for you..

Hope you get it sorted out.

Panasonic home theater

switch the HDMI cable to another HDMI port (if available).
or use and AVI/COMPONENT to make sure the device (HOME THEATHER) is working fine.
Try also another HDMI cable or hook another device into it to see how it works.
If you determine the HDMI port in not working properly, then your Mainboard is damaged and need to be replaced, try EBAY for a general picture of prices but you will need your product code wich is located in the back of the TV next to serial number.

LG plasma buzzing

Problem is probably with your cable box as you have confirmed that the set is working by using the dvd player, that is unless you have a bad cable for the cable box.
