My camera gives off a message: Problem with memory card. It is not full. Only two months old and I cannot format or take pictures anymore. It is fully charged. At first it gave me a error message 99. It just says error with memory card and to replace it. I don't have another to replace. They are quite expensive. Is this a faulty memory card or is it the camera?

Re: Have a Canon EOS SLR
Reformat the card in the camera then try
Also use the menu system with help from the manual to establish the file size/ file type
The higher the resolution the few the images able to be stored/ RAW and Tiff give but few SHQ give more HQ give even more but each with declining quality.
Which is only 2 month old Card or Camera or Both?
Either way having tried the alternatives if still in trouble return the 2 month old item for replacement.

Error 70 is something related to the data being captured and/or written to the memory card is detected as being problematic in some way... this may not be a simple memory card error, although of course that can't be ruled out. Try re-formatting the memory card in the camera.
Your card needs to be formatted to the camera. Once the memory card is opened on a computer to look at or download the pictures the card needs to be formatted to the camera it is going to be used in so the camera and card and properly communicate between each other.
If your cards work properly in another camera, the problem is most likely caused by one or more of the CF Card pins being bent inside your camera. Sometimes, if a card gets a small piece of sand or debris in one of the holes, it can cause it to push one of the pins in the camera straight back out of its hole. Bob Kilbournwww.camerarepairs.com
I can help you fix the BUSY Error or Error 99 of your Canon EOS Rebel XS / Canon EOS 1000D.
Installation of this Canon EOS Rebel XS / Canon EOS 1000D firmware version 1.06 update will solve these problems:
Some cameras may exhibit a phenomenon in which the LCD monitor does not display, the shutter does not release, and the BUSY indication remains lit in the viewfinder.
The message, "Err 99 Shooting is not
possible. Turn the power switch to<OFF> and <ON> again or
re-install the battery", appears on the camera's LCD monitor, and after
the above operation is carried out,the LCD monitor displays in a
language that is different from the actual language setting.
