High pitch feedback

I'm getting a weird high pitch feedback when I'm in recording software (GarageBand, Spreaker). Once I close the program the feedback stops. But whenever I want to actually use it the feedback returns. I'm on a Macbook Pro running OS X 10.7.5

Trying to record a mix through a peavey board. I do not get a high pitch hum until I click rec on my Mac. I am connected via usb to the mixer board. Any suggestions on what I might could try to stop this...

First, check your levels on the console. Is anything turned up high, channels, gain settings on channels? Check and see if the noise exists whith the main outputs muted or turned down. If it goes away it is a fader or gain setting on a channel. If it persists, then you have a co nection issue with the USB . Try a different cable. Make sure the Mac is on the same electrical circuit as the mixer, or if it is on battery, try adding it on the electrical circuit with the mixer. See if location of the mixer to the computer makes a difference as well. They may be too close to each other. Hopefully one of these things will fixya.

I have a peavy classic 100 2x12 1975 has a high pitch squeal coming out of amp when powered on

If this happens only when the guitar is plugged in, most likely there are two possibilities. The first, you have some issues with the electronics in the guitar OR are using an acoustic guitar witch has an extremely sensitive pickup that provides nothing but feedback. If this is happening with the guitar unplugged, there is a mountain of possibilities.

A high pitched ringing through the PA associated with strumming

You are proabably getting regeneration. This is nothing more than feedback as these acoustic guitars are good microphones. Make sure the guitar CANNOT "hear" the speakers of the PA system. Crank the high frequency EQ for that channel all the way down. This is common when soundment decide they ALSO need to boost the high frequencies of the PA up when they shouldn't. Regeneration is a feedback that is below that to fully sustain, but will cause a ringing "tail" on notes.

BR-1180 freezing & high-pitch ring

Check your power supply to the unit. Low voltage COULD cause this.

Also make sure a setting is not "looping" the audio back into itself.

I plug it in and all it does is make a high

Make sure you either use a fresh, name brand battery or correct AC adapter.

Turn all controls down at first as it is possible this pedal may feedback internally if controls are all up.

Lexicon alpha interface is recording a faint high pitched sound

Check for ground loops.

You MIGHT be able to cut the noise by setting the EQ's to clip the highs.
