If when you talk into your mic you hear yourself from speakers...open your volume control(windows) and check the box to mute mic. Not for sure this is a fix to your problem but from what you wrote is similar to problem seen with voice chat software.
dude that is creepy, and weird. But what I think is, i think you were so into playing call of duty,
you were talking to yourself. It was probably so awesome your brain got caught up in it and you did'nt know what was goin on. This happens to me when i'm playing halo 3. i'm so into it, I don't know what i'm doing. it's like my mind takes over if i really get into a game.
go to settings/ "Accessory Settings">"Audio Device Settings"> make sure that the level is "5" and it "Inputs" to Logitech USB Headset"and "Output" to "Logitech USB Headset".
Then once your in the online lobby of Resistance you go to "Option" "Audio Device Settings"and it "Inputs" to Logitech USB Headset" and "Output" to "Logitech USB Headset". And to talk in Resistance just press and hold "L3" (left anolog stick)
