My Jenn Air side by side seems to run all the time. Not sure if it's the icemaker, but it is loudest near the icemaker. My wife is impatient and does not believe that we're really in an economic crisis. She believes that an expenditure of $2000 is warranted. HELP
Re: ICE MAKER MOTOR RUNS CONSTANTLY AND WONT' TURN OFF...
It's not too difficult to remove the ice maker. A few screws and the unit will unplug from the fridge. Then you can see why the bar is not turning it off. If it's really broken, check pcappliance.com for parts or a replacement unit. Meanwhile the fridge can keep on working, and you can use trays to make ice.

A loud noise when turning on an Igloo portable ice maker could indicate a problem with the compressor or a malfunctioning fan. It is recommended to unplug the appliance and have it inspected and repaired by a qualified technician.
check that the ice maker is not jammed with frozen ice
dont force the tines on the tray to turn . lightly geared clock.
can you hear the little clock motor running quietly wirrs
is the water running out the front ok
is the water frozen before the tray ,defroster issue then

Here's my thoughts, I hope it helps. I'm going on foggy memory here, so I may not be entirely correct. I worked on something like this a few years ago. The icemold (plate) is vertical, there is a circulating pump that runs water over the mold, with the water freezing as it passes. The sealed system is a heat-pump scheme, it freezes the mold to form the cubes, and reverses to heat for release. And when it works, it makes ice fast. It runs constantly until the ice hopper is detected to be full. (there should be a bail to detect the ice level) The system will not run in the event that it thinks the hopper is full (bail up) but the pump motor runs continuous to avoid it freezing. There is probably either a false detection of "full" or there may be a leak in the sealed system and the system will therefore not run.
On the ice maker you will see a little screw with a + or - printing check carefully on the side just turn it on the way of + it will increase the water time so you will have bigger icecube. hope i was helpful!
The ice maker has a float or full detection device that shuts the water off when trays are full. If you are sure this is where the water is coming from, then that's it.
