Nokia n78 will not turn on

Make sure your phone is not in Airplane / Flight mode. Go to Settings > Profile. Select Normal.

If your phone still stays in offline mode, it is possible there is a problem with your SIM card. Turn off your phone; remove the SIM card; reinsert the SIM card; turn on the phone.

If the problem still persists visit your mobile phone store.

When the phone is in offline mode, press the power button and you will get the options in list view. Choose the option General and the phone will become online.

Offline mode only appears if the mobile phone is not getting the signal from its service provider.

*after power cycling, phone should be working properly now unless the sim card is really faulty. you check if its faulty by calling your mobile service provider*

Offline mode means that your phone aint getting any signal from your mobile service provider's BTS. You need to check it from your mobile service provider if there's an ongoing outage, you need to check as well if the sim card is properly inserted. Try powercycling your phone.
1. Turn off your device.
2. Remove the sim, memory card and battery.
3. Wait for at least 2minutes.
4. Plug back the SIM card, memory card and battery.
5. Turn on mobile phone.
6. Check if you are still getting offline mode.
7. If so, try to insert your SIM card to a different phone.
8. If using a different phone for your SIM displays offline mode still,then its your SIM card which is faulty. If it works fine make sure that you inserted the sim properly or the SIM card slot might be faulty.

Just select settings, profile select the offline mode and it will be activated.
Or, you can switch off the phone, remove the sim card and switch on, it will ask "use phone in offline mode" click yes and phone eill be on in offline mode. When you insert sim card it will still ask the same question select any of your mind and enjoy your phone

just go to profile and select general, it will automatically put your device back to online

Offline mode is usually caused because the SIM card is not accepted by service provider or SIM card has bad metal contact.

If the SIM card that you are using is accepted on your Nokia, then all you have to do is turning off the phone, removing the battery for one minute to reset, and turning back on.


By default the phone will restart in Online mode, and eventually will ask if to switch into flight mode.


If the phone does not go online, that means that the SIM card is faulty, that the phone is not unlocked, or that there is no network where you are using the phone.


Try replacing the SIM card with one for what the phone wa originally locked. If that works, then take phone to a shop to unlock.

ALTERNATIVE TWO: this is useful for those who got INSERT SIM CARD RESPONSE.

WHY INSERT SIM CARD PROBLEM ?
my phone is 1yr and 6 months now and i discovered that as you remove and replace your Sim card numerous times, there is a big possibility that Sim card port will get expanded.

SOLUTION is very simple:.>>:1. buy a black solo tape
2. place it at the outer part of the sim card and use blade to cut exactly the same shape as the sim card.
3. finally stick the tape.



WARNING>>?do not stick the tape on where you have the Sim card service sensors.make use of your brain.

where did you bought your phone? if you bought it from a telecom's promo it means that your phone is locked to a single network provided only. you can ask a technician to have your phone OPENLINE for you to be able to use any kinds of sims.
if it's not the case, check the slot for sim and make sure that the sim is properly placed. restart it without the sim and then restart again but now with the sim.
