When I try to turn the unit on the stby light turns green then back to red. I can replace the fuse and sometimes it will come back on and work until powered off again. Also In the inside rear center board there is a red light that illuminates when the fuse blows. Left RED LED. Im not sure which board is which when looking at the back of the TV. TV looks great when it works. Any help would be great.

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary. Action-3: Replace the main board!!!
Those transformers on the power supply board have shorted. That why,it killing ur fuse.Which one?Must test and find out,if u have the equipment and the skill.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
U just may of blown fuses on the power supply of the television if you are sure it was a surge. If u can open the unit check all fuses on the power supply for open coniditions. If the future is a good Ideal to use a surge proctector as this will protect your equipment. Make sure power is off and remove AC power to check fuses. Sometimes just removing AC power for a least 2mins will reset the unit.
Probable Lamp. If lamp hasn't bown the red Lamp Lite won't flash but other lamp issues cause stby timer light to continue flashing. If stby red lite is flashing, count the no. of times flashing - could open thermal fuse (6X flashing)
Hello this may be a power supply problem, but my professional guess is that your Y-Substain board has failed. Count the number of times the red light flashes, this indicates the reason of failure of the unit. After which check ur user manual for troubleshooting section, your manual may give you a listing of the number of blinks and what they mean. If you want take off the back and check the fuses on the power supply if one is blown then replace the power supply as just replacing the fuse will just blow it again. If no fuse are blown then have a technician replace teh Y_Substain Board.
google it up - if you're not happy repairing it yourself (which needs just a multimeter and a hand full of small, generic fuses) then you'll need to get it professionally mended. which could cost you more than simply buying a new one.
I have seen the caps in the power supply vent, which means they get hot and the top pops up and splits open, resulting in the "bang" sound. If you have experience in electronics then remove the back of the set and examine the power supply, looking for any caps whose tops are bowed upward, and replace.
