TAKES 45 MINUTES TO COME ON

TURN ON AND HAS A BLACK SCREEN FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES. CANNOT SHUT BACK OFF AT THE TV. HAVE TO SHUT OFF POWER STRIP. TURN TV BACK ON AND A PICTURE SLOWLY BLEEDS IN AND THE SOUND WILL NOT WORK FOR AWHILE. ONCE WARMED UP, YOU CAN SHUT IT OFF AND THEN THE SOUND WILL WORK FOR A SPLIT SECOND AFTER REPOWERING ON. HAVE TO DO THIS FOR ABOUT 3-10 TIMES BEFORE THE SOUND WILL REMAIN ON.

SOURCE: A17w221 goes off automatically with power on

I have the same problem. The next stage is that the picture won't come on at all and the blue light will constantly blink. I think the light source is bad. Noit sure though.

SOURCE: Hitachi Plasma TV model P50H401

I think you have problems with the digital main PWB.

If the power PWB failed, turn off and change the pilot ligth to red.

SOURCE: Sound stays on, but no picture- goes black and stays that way.

This unit should still be under warranty and should be taken in for warranty service. Any attempt to access the interior will void the warranty. It is important that a complete description of the problem like you entered here be taken along when you bring the set in for service. This will insure that the servicer be able to reproduce the problem and resolve it.

From your description (and as a servicer), I would be looking for a component that is heat sensitive. These types of problems are fairly easy to locate and resolve.

Please take this in for warranty service and update this when you find out the details.

Thanks,
Dan

LG 32cs460-us TV black screen red light blinks 3 times

I can give you some advice on the first thing you need to try. Unplug the tv for 10 minutes. Plug the tv back into the wall or power strip. Try powering on the tv. This may work or may not. It is important to try this before moving on to more complicated troubleshooting.

Why does our TV go through the channell setup everytime we turn it on?

Are you turning "OFF" the TV with a power strip ? or a switched wall outlet..

Check your power source..

I have a Philips 50" Flat HDTV model 50PF9431D/37. Problem with screen turning on. I get sound. I get 9 quick flashes in red. Then after unplugging and plugging back in several times. It then blinks...

I have the exact same problem! I have it hooked up to a power strip now to unplug it by flicking of the power strip and waiting for the red light to go out then I turn it back on while Channeling up 10 X's and then down and up until it comes on. I listen to the sound of the switch which it comes on. I turn it off if it is faint and then back on and channel up. Crazy process but it's been working. It takes about 10 minutes everytime to get the TV on until I get a tech to come out and look at it. The capacitor keeps a charge which is why the light is flashing with a code for 60 seconds./JJ

Screen goes black after 30 mins of working.

There are a few things you need to check here.
1. It could be that your computer power management is set to turn your monitor and harddrive off after 30 to 45 min.

If the computer is however working for 30 to 45 min while you doing stuff and it shuts off, the there is an internal problem "Hardware"

I would suggest you check to see if the power management is set to turn off monitor 30 min and harddrive after 45 min. IF that is not so, then we go on to the next test.

It could possibly be your processor fan is not working so once your processor gets over heated it shuts off the computer.

Turn off the computer, remove the case "this is only if you know what you are doing" with the case off, power on the computer and see if the processor fan is working.

You can get back to me and I can walk you through it.

Hope thiss help.

The screen gets black in some minutes of working, the sound continues

My LG LCD HD TV was doing the same thing. I would turn it on and within about 10 minutes the screen would go black.

After much research and troubleshooting I ended up having to send it out for servicing.

Before you do that, try these steps
  1. Is your TV plugged in to a power strip, splitter, UPS or other power sharing device? If so, plug it directly in to a wall outlet. If the TV is getting low power it can cause issues
  2. Does your TV have other video sources plugged in to it? (Example, Digital Cable, DVD Player,XBox 360) If so, try a different source and see if the problem still happens. If the problem does away, it could be the source. If the problem still happens then its still a problem :-)
Hope this helps!

TV Powers off after 30-45 mins

All you need to do is remove the back cover, then remove the metal cover that covered the power supply. Watch tv w/o cover, it won't shut down again. Try it and post here if it works.

Lcd power off issue

Its the power supply!!
well i migrated to this issue from having no sound and video1.gif with just the power button illuminated. I replaced the power supply with one from an online salvage store and it worked fine for about two hours and then it shut off, turned it back on and then twenty minutes later off again...repeat... need an electronics person to trouble shoot and trace which resistors and or capacitors are overloading.
anyone??
