If your computer does not recognize the USB device, first try method 1 to work around this issue. Method 1: Initiate recognition of the USB device by using Device Manager To initiate recognition of the USB device by using Device Manager, follow these steps: Click Start, click Run, type Devmgmt.msc, and then click OK. The Device Manager window opens. Click to select your computer as the location for the scan. On the Action menu, click Scan for hardware changes. Windows XP recognizes the new device. Close the Device Manager window. If this method resolves the issue, you are finished. If this method does not resolve the issue, go to method 2. Method 2: Disable power management of the USB hub Note If you perform the following procedure, you may also reduce the battery life on a portable computer. Use this method if method 1 does not work. To disable power management of the USB hub, follow these steps: Click Start, click Run, type Devmgmt.msc, and then click OK. The Device Manager window opens. Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers. Right-click a USB Root Hub in the list, and then click Properties. The USB Root Hub Properties dialog box is displayed. Click the Power Management tab. Click to clear the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box, and then click OK. Repeat steps 3 through 6 for each USB Root Hub in the list. On the Action menu, click Scan for hardware changes. Windows XP recognizes the new device. Close the Device Manager window. If this method does not resolve the issue, go to method 3. Method 3: Restart the computer To initiate recognition of the USB device, first unplug the USB device and restart the computer. Then, wait five to ten seconds before you plug the USB device into the computer or hub. Windows XP recognizes the new device. If this method does not resolve the issue, you might want to review the articles in the "Similar Problems and Solutions" section, or contact Support. How can i install my cordless mouse with no instalation cd

Hello
place batteries in mouse.
connect The Transmitter/reciever to the pc ( probably USB) and then press the sync button under the sender if there is one, and then press the sync button under the mouse.
windows should recognize it.
To get the driver search for your model on the manufacturer's website
and download the driver ....install driver and plug mouse in.

If this does not work let me now what OS ( operating system ) you are running.
and what you are plugging the mouse into.

USB device not recognized

Got the easiest solution to the problem. It worked for me, hope it helps all of you too.

First of all, if the device is unrecognizable, go to Device Manager and remove (not disable) the device. After doing so, remove the USB connector from the port.

Next, go to
http://www.logitech.com/en-my/support-downloads?wt.mc_id=usym_redirect_/index/downloads, and look for your mouse/keyboard etc model. Choose the one that you own and choose the Software Downloads option. Next, follow the steps and install the Logitech Connection Utility.

Once installed, follow the steps given and hopefully your device should be reconnected once again. Hope it helps all the best!

Mouse not being recognized

Hello Narin,

Check the USB properties if there are some errors at Control Panel> System> Device Manager> USB device. Install the compliment CD driver for USB devices. Also try placing the mouse into other USB port(s). Update your OS as necessary for device patches and if there's a need to install driver for the said mouse please install then.. Hope thos helps.
