Need to find out something

I threw my manual away and i forgot my password to sign on my labtop. because i read something in the manual about a password to restart it but i still dont kno how to change my password.. so i cant sign on my labtop

Your passwrd where in he BIOS or Windows?

Just to set the matter right if the password is in the bios thats the first thing the computer boots up then you must remove the lithium battery inside the laptop for a hour or so that will clear the bios and reset it all. If the password is to open windpws XP then you could be stiffed. If so then start the machine up in safe mode look to se if the administrator password has not been enabled if it is free go to the control panel and to the users find your name or login and remove the password. Your all safe now and should get in

If you have forgotten your Windows login password then you can download a copy Hiren's Boot CD which is a CD image file (.ISO) then burn this to a blank CD and boot your laptop from this.

On the initial Hiren's boot menu, select the option for:
Offline NT/2000/XP/Vista/7 Password Changer
and then follow the guided prompts shown on the further menu panels.

This tool will allow you to reset your Windows login password to all blanks (i.e. no password).

If you have forgotten a BIOS level password then go to
http://www.tech-faq.com/reset-bios-password.html
and try the suggestions there for the specific make of BIOS that you have on your eMachines notebook.

if you go to the sign-in menu all the way on the right you can choose "forgot my password" but then you must remember the security question.If you can not get threw that way try Click "Forgot Password". The Password Should come in your email. Or write playstation to resend your info to your email.There always the option of creating another account.

Hi,
Try this.
As soon as u start the Laptop, start hitting F8 Key Cont. it will take u Safe Mode, click on safe mode, may be cud find another user account, Go to Start - Control Panel - User Account - Select ur User Account and Remove the Password.
& if incase u dont have any other User Account, then u will have to contact ur Manufacturer or u will have to Restore ur computer to Factory Settings.

Locked out of my labtop

If it's a Windows password, then enter safe mode at start up by pressing F8, log in as administrator, from here you can clear any user passwords from the user accounts section. If this is a bios password you will need to contact Dell support directly for the master code to unlock the board.
