There is usually a sensor beyond the fluff filter that cuts in if over heating which can clog up with finer particles of fluff that evade the filter and give the impression of overheating, that is what is likely to be the reason. It is a job that needs a technician as it requires some dis-assembly.

SOURCE: I have a ventless stackable

The circuit breaker tripped off because there's a high current draw or short circuit. The drive motor is sounds like overheating. This results in the high draw of current causing the breaker to trip. Unplugging the dryer allows the motor to cool off and work again utmost for one cycle.

The motor is now totally out causing the dryer not to run. No dryer function works then when the motor cannot run. The heating circuit is activated by the motor through the motor centrifugal switch. Check to make sure that every thermostat has continuity. Bypass the thermostats and isolate them for troubleshooting. Bypassing means taping together the wires and insulating it properly. Start the dryer upon reconnecting power and if the dryer starts, replace the thermostats.

Check the motor windings for continuity if the dryer still doesn't start after bypassing the thermostats. Replace the motor if a no continuity condition is found. Check power right at the motor terminals if there's no issue found with the motor windings. Measure the voltage right at the motor terminals while starting the dryer, but this is a risky troubleshooting. Do not attempt doing it yourself if are you not technically inclined in this field to avoid the risk of electric shock that may result in serious physical injury or even DEATH.

Drier's check filter light keeps beeping... trouble shoot?

the check filter indicator on the display panel was designed to serve as a reminder to clean the lint filter before each use to ensure great drying every time. This indicator does not mean that there is anything is wrong with your dryer and will automatically turn off once you begin your drying cycle.

LG Model DLE1501W - I set the dryer for appropriate cycle. It shuts off after 10-15 mins or so. clothes are still wet.

The moisture sensors seem to be the issue. The two metal bars on the lint filter housing. Try cleaning with alcohol and stop using dryer sheets.

Dryer LG 1100 shuts off after a few minutes. If you set it for 54 minutes, you check if after 5 minutes it reads 14 minthen in 5 minutes it starts cooling down. The clothes are still wet.

Clean your lint filter, and clean the entire line vent from the dryer to the outside export port, also look inside the dryer vent hook up for obstructions and remove any lint. Keeping these parts lint free will save you energy and also drying time and maintenance repairs. My dryer is 18 years old.

My lg 2240 clean filter light blinks even though the filter is clean. when started it runs for 3 to 4 seconds then shuts off. if you wait for about a minute it will start again then shut off after 3 to 4...

This problem usually is caused by a restricted or blocked vent. The filter itself can be clean, but the duct work in the dryer after the filter, or the vent hose attached to the dryer, or the exhaust door attached to that hose is either restricted, plugged or blocked. Lint likes to build up in all areas the exhaust air goes, so check them all. The dryer has a sensor that will shut the dryer off if there is a restriction. Cleaning all of the duct work, from the filter all the way to where it exhausts outside, will usually solve this problem. An easy way to check is to unhook the exhaust hose from the dryer and run it. Does it keep running now? It is possible the sensor in the dryer has gone bad, but that is rare. 99% of the time it is lint build up in the venting.

Alrighty then lets get crackin- You have the new part to look at open up the machine-usually a bunch of screws on the back. Look for the similar part-here comes the fun-remove it carefully-take note of plugs ,wires, hoses, mounting position. reassemble close it all back up plug it in and let her rip-hopefully you have just fixed your machine-be sure to check for leaks at all your water connections-they can make a mess of things-cheers Denny

I have an lg dryer model DLG5966W and the check filter light is on. It takes two cycles to completly dry my clothes. I cleaned the lint filter and still doesnt dry on one cycle. I then removed the filter...

Check your vent. Inspect the dryer venting from the rear of the dryer to the outside vent hood of the home.
If there's a restriction in the vent--the clothing in the dryer takes longer to dry.
When an LG dryer is functioning normally---the time required to dry laundry is determined by the *Sensor* located on the drum side of the lint filter housing and by the main control board.
When laundry is near dry--any Time Remaining on the control panel that is *not* needed will be eliminated---except for the last 6 minutes.
The final 6 minutes of any LG automatic cycle is for cooling down the laundry before the dryer ends the cycle.
If a dryer *counts down* to the last 6 minutes but the laundry is still not dry--the computer will allow the dryer to run until the laundry has dried or defaults (not drying within the additional time allowed).
Dryer vents that are longer than 8 feet with more than (2) 90 degree turns--can affect drying performance.
Setting the DRY LEVEL selector to *Very Dry* will solve most dryability issues. In homes with abnormally long vents--even the longer run time in the *Very Dry* setting is usually not sufficient to dry laundry loads.
Reducing the length of the vent or starting a second cycle becomes necessary to fully dry the clothing.
If a second cycle was started---only the amount of time that is needed to dry laundry will be used before dropping to 6 minutes and then the cycle will end with dry laundry. Bonus:
LG DRYER

Problem:
The dryer has an auto dry feature which never fully dries the clothes so we wind up manually setting the dry time to an hour.
Solution:
LG gas dryers are VERY temperamental in long vent set-ups. If fabric softener sheets are used in the dryer--clean the two stainless steel strips of metal on the lint filter housing with a SCOTCHBRITE PAD--scrub back & forth several times to remove the waxy residue from the fabric softener sheets. Most,if not all manufacturers do *not* recommend using sheets in dryers that have a moisture sensor (electrodes).
However--using a SCOTCHBRITE pad keeps the wax off those sensors which can be seen if looking *into* the dryer drum and at the lint filter housing.
If only *liquid* fabric softener is used in the washer--clean the dryer sensors once a month. Liquid softener also contains wax which can slowly accumulate on the dryer sensors from the laundry washed in the washer.

Drying timer on auto dry

I called LG...they said to unplug the dryer for 5 min. to reset the timer ...this solved the problem.
They also said not to use dryer sheets during the sensor dry cycle as the coating on the dryer sheets causes the sensor to malfunction as it can't read the humidity level in the dryer.

Dryer keeps stopping - check filter light on

For Sgt 48 - You are not reading the original message very well - The original help question didn't say they saw check filter at the beginning or end of a dry cycle they indicated that the dryer STOPS MID DRY and says check filter - this is not a friendly reminder, it is indicating something is wrong and the filter needs to be completely cleaned out (and past the filter down in the interior of the dryer) and if that does not work then you need to also check the dryer hose for kinks, lint build up, etc. Lastly, reset the dryer by unplugging it (or flipping the breaker) for a minute or so and hold down on the start/pause button for 8 seconds while it is unplugged (this will reset the error code for check filter, among other things).
